    I've been doing some artwork for some Ocs of mine based on the Animals of the Chinese Zodiac...

    ~~~~~~wavy line time~~~~~~
    Following the disappearance of the Ark and its crew soon after leaving Cybertronian orbit to clear the asteroid field, The Autobots sent one of their salavge crews to locate the ship and investigate what became of it.
    However, as is usually the case with these things, One of the crew, Megabyte, turned out to be a Decepticon agent and sabotaged the ship to crash into the very same ball of rock that the Ark and Nemesis had.
    The ship, the Zodiak, crashed in what would later become known as Southern China. It's systems lay dormant until the medieval period, when its life support systems, for reasons unknown, came online. Not sensing 'mechanical' lifeforms nearby, It instead reformatted the crew in the forms of statues nearby.
    With their mission over, these new Zodiacbots chose to wander the nearby area, and study the lives and cultures of the previously unknown organic lifeforms.....Some stayed in China, many made it to Japan. Others went as far as Thailand and the Philippines...........
    In 1984 it became obvious that other Transformers were active on Earth. the very transformers that these mechs had been sent to rescue.
    I don't think so, no....signs like Leo would be good to do, but when you get to Libra and Virgo it gets a bit weird.....Although Rack and Ruin would make a preety cool Gemini!!
    Thanks! I wanted Beast Wars type 'obvious what their alt modes are' names, but also hinting on their Pre Earth existence. So Wormhole the Navigator became Wyrmhole the Dragon, and so on.
    Thankyou!! I enjoyed making them.
    He's a favourite of mine too. I think it comes from all these years of thinking a fat transformer had to look like Fatimus Prime. Or it could just be the Vegas-era Elvis Presley sideburns, I'm not sure!
    Thanks, I can honestly say that a transforming snake is an absolute pain in the arse to design. No wonder the Beast Wars lot tacked on a Scorpion at the first available opportunity......It meant they could give the botmode limbs!!
    Well, with a little imagination:
    Libra: A helicopter like machine resembling a set of scales, which flys by spinning (the plates on either side double as chain sickle/flail weapons in robot mode)
    Gemini: As you've already suggested, the alt mode is the main robot splitting into two small twins (rather like Armada Sideways).
    Aquarius: A hulking robot carrying two huge water tanks on his back - he transforms into a battle tank which uses a high pressure water cutter as its weapon.
    Virgo: Umm yeah, this ones tricky...how about a robot mode resembling a beautiful woman in a long dress, who transforms into a giant mechanical rose (yeah it sounds pretty 'out there' but you simply explain this rose has powerful energy projection capabilities)?
    The rest design themselves.
    Outstanding. Absolutely beautiful work, very creative and original. It's obvious that a lot of thought and care went into these designs. It was time and effort, not to mention talent, well spent!
    In other words: Love 'em!
    In addition - though I'm going to be cyber-beaten for saying this - this artwork is a welcome and refreshing change of pace from all of the 'Animated' submissions.
    Keep up the awesome work!
    P.S. - We would like toys based on these designs ASAP (yeah, I know... but wouldn't that be nice?)!
    These are terrific!
    Great designs in both robot and animal modes.
    Great coloring and angles.
    Great bios and idea.
    Great supposed transformations.
    I really enjoyed reading through these before bed, and imagining the transformations.
    Glad you posted this up.
    You're not alone there, with the animated or the wantinting toys of 'em. It tends to come in phases, doesn't it? I like the Animated stuff, and I guess its 'easier' to do than the 'Bayverse' style, but I always enjoy seeing some old school G1 stuff....if its OCs or not.
    Thanks a lot, I really enjoyed doing them. So much so that I'm trying to think of ways of shoehorning in more animals to the Chinese zodiac!! (I think a Panda transformer would be pretty cool!!)
    Feel free to try!!! :)
    Thanks for the kind words. I always try to get a little backstory with my OCs, and try to have realistic transformations, with minimal 'bits just disappear'.
