Not being a dick, just genuinely interested, what is your rationale for this?

Even though Devastator is six bots I wouldn't want him to be taller than Superion. Either the same or shorter, just as jets and a concorde are pretty freakin' large. I tend to stick to toon scale but combiners defy scale, toys, toon and science so...

 

Just noticed Swindle's alt mode also. Wow that whole ox mess is a ... mess.

Here's hoping we're all wrong and both of these sets will look awesome.

 

Yeah they are MP scale and will be parts forming like Devy,so I would imagine there articulation is going to great! They maybe overly busy or boxy in robotmode but I honestly dont care as long as the colors are right and they resemble there G1 self.

 

I like him personally, I'm always a fan of "g1 toy with articulation" type of things, but i totally get how thats not alot of people's taste.

I wouldn't put too much stock in the Ox drawings. We can clearly see they are not at all following Ox's designs for Vortex's and Brawl's alt-modes, so I wouldn't expect them to be following any of the bot designs 100%.

 

Same scale yes, but same size won't be known till we see the thing of course lol.

Nope, Devastator is officially taller than Bruticus or Superion. So even if this set is say 18 as apposed to the 19.6 of their dev that would be ideal. But they might have him at a similar height, who knows.

I just hope he doesn't have the giant shoulders of warbo's.

All that can really be said definitively right now is this thing is going to kick the living shit out of that pile of crap that was Uranos, possibly my 2nd most regretful combiner purchase.  

 

I assumed that the nosecone on the coneheads was a result of that nosecone being the actual robot head, unlike takaras with the fake head and the planes actual nose dangling out of the bots rectum.
I have no idea what's going on here though. Hoping it's a symptom of early prototype roughness. Either that or they may be doing some parts sharing between Superion and the coneheads?

 

If Uranos was your second most regretful combiner, what steaming pile is #1?

 

If i had to guess I would say TFC Predaking, that thing could barely stand for most people.

 

My favorite combiner, nice. And finally. Really looking forward to these and most importantly I am expecting wonderful individual bot modes.

 

IMO, best Superion to date is the Combiner Wars one and best Bruticus to day is Warbotron. Neither of them really hit the sweet spot for me. Maybe TW can come through on their attempt seeing as so many have fallen short.

 

Ares. A combiner with such inept leg stability and poor weight distribution it literally can not stand at all. And by some miracle should you somehow get him balanced just right its only a matter of time until his legs loosen up again and he either tips back or forward or leg splits or all three. Never mind all the loose parts on the five figures themselves.

Uranos had a lot of problems, but at least the damn thing could stand and pose.  

Inb4 some Ares defender claims "mine stands perfect!" fucking liiiiiies. Anyway from what I understand TW's Dev turned out relatively decent qc wise so I have high hopes for these two.

as for Uranos, he's not perfect for sure, but i kinda dig him after i've done a few mods, specifically making it so Silverbolt doesn't need to partsform, tighetning the hip ratchets, and removing the ratchets at the feet and instead gluing some rubber bits so it wont do the splits.

Its still a pretty meh figure but it does alot of things i like, CW Superion is just better and for a cheaper price too, i would really like to see how this one turns out, and i'll be especially interested if its got a scramble city feature.

 

They keep pulling me right back in....

The nose on the one in the bottom left side of the picture looks like Theo other conehead releases. The other plane def looks like slingshot though

Here is mine. A little unkempt. I haven't messed with or touched him in forever. First time I ever "messed" up on repolabeling also (on the one wing). I had a spare sheet and also labels for Silverbolt that I never applied also!  

SXS head, Wings of Uranos and some shapeways stuff is installed.
