Once all 5 are released, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to care about or ever even see the heads again.

 

You know, I'm usually on the side of toon rather than toy but in this case, I think I prefer the toy look. Not that it matters: the vote is in. I'm guessing, though, that they'll probably do both and they'll include a toon head for Air Raid in one of the other figures like how ft does it.

 

I like them both. Just wish it looked better from the side. He has a thin profile head

 

Man this Superion battle between Zeta and FT is heating up. Right after Zeta's toy vs toon poll FT's pic release of their Ice Man(AirRaid) just made it real. Still like Zeta's offering but with a Toon head I can forgive the aesthetic parts I don't like (long chest, strange knee caps)

Sigh....just transformed my Air Strike and I've got two left wings. Well let's see what the seller can do. Hopefully they fix it soon otherwise I may jump to FT.

I get that it's annoying as all hell, but that 'may jump to FT' makes no sense to me. If they make a similar mistake, do you jump to TFC?

 

Help me understand something here - does he come shipped in bot mode or alt mode?

 

Zeta will be my toy version and FT will be my toon version. Win-win.

 

Bot mode

 

Zeta’s a new company. If they follow the practices of TW then it might take awhile to get the replacement parts. FT on the other hand has excellent customer service. I’m not worried about getting replacement parts from them. In a race this tight for what appears to be the best G1 looking Superion I’m not waiting. Look at FT Forager. Glad I grabbed that while I could. Can’t find it now.

TFC Uranos was never on my radar. Looks nothing like G1.

Anyways my seller has already contacted me and Zeta, on FB, has contacted me about getting a replacement wing so it’s all good. Just took a few hours (3hrs!) which I’d say is good customer support. Now the wait....and no right turns.

 

I couldn't identify the Aerialbots based on their portraits, so I don't have a dog in the toy vs toon fight. You could probably put a Gobot head on one and I wouldn't know. Whatever looks best is what I go for. My KFC Transistor (Blaster) has a toy head, but my XTB Paean (Hoist) sports the toon head.

The FT Aerialbots look pretty good. I'm dubious about the wings forming the legs, but that's one way to streamline the bot mode. They need to show their combined mode for me to take them seriously, though. That's the only comparison that matters to me.

 

So, you can see the wings when you place it in the box? Because if so, two left wings is kind of poor form.

 

The wings are folded up on the sides of the legs in bot mode and not visible when you remove the foam cover.

 

I mean, I know it’s superion, but the head reallllly looks a lot like computron... if not moreso than superion.

 

Wowsers, I missed a whole lot over the holidays. I'm still reading through all the multiple pages of stuff I missed (I wouldn't normally bother but honestly, I rather like this thread).

That vote on the head designs worries me, to be honest. I prefer the toy heads anyway but they've already made two with the toy heads. Silverbolt looks to have a more cartoon-accurate head, so... will Slingshot and Skydive have cartoon heads too? I really, really hope they give us two different heads (and retroactively give us cartoon heads for Air Raid and Fireflight), else the set will be a weird hodge-lodge.

I'd prefer for them to stick to the toy designs since it differentiates them more from FansToys and those are the designs I'm more familiar with, but if they have to go for cartoon heads, I really, really, really do hope they include both styles.

I'm still waiting on mine but I should hopefully have Air Raid and Fireflight by the end of next month...
