You're not a true fan if you enjoy every series. 'True Fan' should complain about everything.  

 

You aren't a True fan unless you have watched clear through at least one entire Series (and not the English kind)

In Britain, Seasons are called Series for some reason.

 

If you don't suspect that little yellow car is following you, you're not a true Transformers fan.

 

I was a non online fan for quite a few years as I lived with my ex who hogged the internet and ridiculed my interest in it. In this time I did customs and got all my comics and info from my local comic book shops

A true fan is passionate and cares deeply about the franchise, so I think you are not a true fan unless you have got carried away or emotional on ebay or a transformers fansite

There is no such thing as a "true fan". There are fans and there are not-fans. I've said it before and I'll say it again: What does it take to be considered a 'Transformers fan'? LIKING TRANSFORMERS. You don't have to enjoy the entire franchise, just anything to do with Transformers. Whether you only read the comics, or if you only collect the figures, if you're a staunch G1 fan, if you only like Bayformers, whatever.

Only like Beast Wars? Still a fan.
Animated and TFP is your bread and butter? Still a fan.
Bayformers is the be-all and end-all of your Transformers knowledge? Still a fan.
G1 is the Bible and should never be deviated from? Still a fan.
Energon is your favourite series? Yep, still a fan.
RID is the only thing worth watching? Still a fan.
Comics are where it's at? Still a fan.
Only in it for the toys? Still a fan.
Heck, if you only like Kiss Players, you're still a fan (much to many people's chagrin).  

So, in short, as TNS said, not being a Transformers fan merely means you don't like Transformers in any capacity.

I agree that there's no such thing as a 'true fan.' That was the point of the thread, to make fun of the idea that you can't possibly be a proper fan unless whatever. You're a fan if you like transformers, end of.

 

I love all the fake phony fans saying that there is no such thing as a true fan trying to deny the fact that they're only in for the fad. Pathetic. May Primus pit your soul because I will not. WRECK'N' RULE!

I agree with this. Everyone who has different tastes are still fans.

However it wouldn't be like a TF fan if we don't at least get a little uptight over some people's opinions.  

 

You are not a true fan if you can't name more then 10 characters who were not in the movies. I think thats a pretty lenient benchmark.

 

I had to laugh, I was just complaining about how irrelevant scale was in the MP line just yesterday. Don't forget the 'who got reformatted into the cyclonus/scourge' arguments! Haha!

Anyhow! You're not a true fan if you can't acknowledge and accept that G1 was,is and will be the only thing relevant in the TF franchise for many years to come!
