I have done this in my local forum, but also am interested to see what people on the other side of the world thinks.

It is the last day of the year. Like the years before, I was going to do a "Year in Review" post on my blog (like this one in 2009). This year, I wish to include a new category - The Friends Voted Acquisition of the Year (TFW 2005).

I have narrowed down the list of potential 'acquisition of the year' and created a poll. Links are below if you want to see the toy itself.

Just to be clear, the vote is for what you think should be my acquisition of the year, hence "Friends Voted Acquisition of the Year (TFW 2005)".

hey, I am impressed with your H2O2 for the Galaxy Shuttle. Where did you get the repro sticker for galaxy shuttle?

Do you think H2O2 will erode screw?

I'm seriously thinking of replicating my set of stickies for Galaxy Shuttle. That way, many would have benefitted since those that has the toy either has their stickers worn out terribly by now (especially if you ain't first owners of that piece) or they don't have it on the toy initially. (Judging by the last few that I saw on eBay)

Still looking out for the correct vendor (locally) to help pull the project off...

And for your information, Hydrogen Peroxide WILL corrode/erode screws.

In fact, they will corrode/erode anything that's made of metal so unless the screws are made of any materials other then metals...

Dinoking isn't worth 1400 bucks to me... that sounds more like a down payment to the 370z I want:lol . Still kicking myself for not buying the one heroic_deceptic brought.. just didn't have the cash at the time.

Yeah, at that price point, Dinoking giftset was a steal.

You couldn't even get one near that price these days, even if its Used & tattered. :lol

Thanks for the information. There are certain transformers that you can never removed the metal pin that is hard nailed into the part. e.g. grotusque having the yellowing on the leg but no way I can remove the metal pin there.

    Any advice?

^ I don't really do alot of repair works on my TFs so you're better off posting this question in the Radicons section instead.

That's what the boys do whenever they're facing "technical issues." :D

    Thanks man!

It is. This is a very good condition piece bought from Mr Automorpher :D

I recently saw a Dinoking at my usual G1 shop at Yau Ma Tei (complete unused, but box is sun faded on top), selling for HKD$10,800 (USD$1381.59) and it was gone in less than a week. The world is getting crazier out there.

I didn't get repro stickers. What I did was completely remove the stickers and replaced them onto the used sticker sheet. When I was done with the H2O2, I simply reapplied all the stickers.

Zippo Lighter Fluid can be used to remove stickers and when it dried the stickers regain their stickiness.

    Cheers!

I will buy a set if you replicate the stickers. There are one or two stickers on my Galaxy Shuttle that will benefit from the replicating. Maybe try Reprolabels (but they are not local to you I guess).

The H2O2 I used (3%) didnt corrode screws. I dunked the entire Micromaster for Dai Atlas into the solution with disassembling and all the pins and reverts for the wheels are still fine now. Really depends I guess. But do read more before you try H2O2.

The pins on Galaxy Shuttle are the sort of pins you are talking about, I have no idea how to remove them. It was my wife that removed them. This is what I think happened - I saw her using a small model kit screw-driver (slimmer in diameter than the metal pin) and a rubber hammer. Gently knock on the pin until it protrudes out from the other end. Once enough is out, use a plier to pull the entire pin out.

I'd have to differ to my wife on that though.

I can confirm however, that its definitely possible to remove them and replace them without affecting the overall transformation.

Your W-I-F-E did all that??? :jawdropper:

Good lord, I really have to hand it over to your partner, h_d.

So you watched on while she played "Ratchet/Wheeljack?" :lol

    Mm...Interesting...

@ chrisr291: Did you mentioned that you, too, dunked Leozack's Breastmaster into Hydrogen Peroxide solution before?

    Maybe my mind was elsewhere...
