Best molds are Cybertron Prime and ROTF leader Prime hands down

From the ones that I've handled:

1) Classics Voyager Optimus Prime - Definitely my favorite execution of G1 Prime thus far. So solid, yet so intuitive. The only way to improve on it would be to add ratcheting bicep joints.
2) ROTF Leader Optimus and subsequent remolds - Amazing engineering and spot on to the movie.
3) Animated Voyager Optimus - Really nice and heroic silhouette in robot mode.
4) BW Ultra Optimus Primal - Gimmicks galore! Also great looking beast and robot modes.
5) Cybertron Leader Optimus Prime - Excellent use of the "super mode" and nice, boxy look.

 

buster optimus prime... there is no other choice.

 

G1 but I'd love to get the remolded head cab that came with the ipod station.

I don't know. I love a lot of the alternate takes on the OP character we've had over the years and across multiple series, but the Voyager Classics is one that just never captured the Optimus Prime feel for me, for whatever reason. Aside from that, I just can't get past the massive forearm kibble. I'm not crazy about how the waist is narrow in the front but fat in the back, either.


I do kind of like the somewhat Ultraman-ish red and silver stripe design in truck mode, but that's because I'm a huge Ultraman fan, not because I think it fits Optimus overly much.

For me, it's the Cybertron Leader Optimus mold, and no other Optimus toy even matters, save classics just because it scales with that collection.

 

1. MP-10 Prime: The P-E-R-F-E-C-T representation of G1 Prime, period.

2. Henkei/Classics Prime: Add the TFC Gear of War 2 gun, and the G3 trailer, and you've got the next best representation of Prime. Love that figure and all his fixins.

3. RTS/United Prime w/Battle Tanker: Love G2 Laser Rod Prime, and this pulls off that look and then some. I've never owned a G2 Prime, but now, I don't need to.  

4. Titanium War Within Prime: I really love this figure. I love the design. My only two gripes, wish he was a voyager, and wish he had a trailer. Other than that, love it.

5. New Years 2002 Edition G1 Prime: Last, but most definitely not least. This figure is one of my most cherished of all. The first figure I bought when I started collecting again. Love how his eyes and windows are blue for cartoon accuracy. When I'm burned like a Jedi, I'll probably be holding this guy so he can go with me.

Classics voyager - argue about which deco, but the mold itself can't be beat.
G2 - can't beat the toy that introduced the concept of articulation. We didn't know what we were missing until this one came along.
Knight Morpher - revised version for durability
TFTM protoform - people always ignore the blue space turd, but it really is a great toy.
