Made in response to bignick1963's thread, I figured it would be worthwhile to give the opposition some face-time, since odds are that we all have at least one Megatron, too.

    My Top Five:

5- RID Ultra Megatron (AKA Gigatron) - The chrome, the stunning palette, the evil snarl - this Megatron refuses to go unseen and unheard. With nearly a dozen alternate modes, this guy is just a marvel of engineering. Some of his modes lack a certain punch, and some are downright goofy. But overall, he's just a huge splash of evil with a hint of fabulousness.

4- DOTM Voyager Megatron - After two movies' worth of debatably poor Megatron toys in multiple size classes, we get one that's almost perfect. Not only does he trade his alien altmodes for a slick 'evil mirror' of Optimus, he rocks it Dr. Doom-style with the dramatic hood-and-cape combo. He can achieve much more menacing poses than the previous iterations, and while yes, he could be larger, he carves out a good place for himself as-is.

3- War for Cybertron Megatron - For being a Deluxe, this guy's got a perfect stature. He's bulky and imposing, without being blocky or massive. He can hit just the right poses for commanding troops or opening fire in his own right. His face is just mean. An all-around great Megs.

2- RTS Legends Megatron - The gun-mode is back, and without partsforming! Sure, he's a tiny tyrant, but for the size, he's stellar. The bright orange 'safety cap' doesn't detract all that much from the whole figure, and in true G1 style, he can be held by any of the MP Seekers - or the ever-loyal RTS Lugnut - for maximum attack power.

1- TF Animated Leader Megatron - He's huge. He's screen-accurate. He turns into a futuristic Osprey. He's got both a fusion cannon and twin swords. He makes Optimus look puny. He's the Megatron that'll make all your Animated Decepticons fall in line. The only thing holding him back from greatness? He needs some actual Corey Burton-recorded lines.

    So, who's your top five?

MUCH more interesting topic than the Prime one, I think.

    In no particular order:

Henkei Megatron: Best official gun-mode Megatron we're ever going to get...
RtS Legends Megatron: ... in a role-play scale, at least. This guy is great, if only to give to other figures.
G2 Megatron/Universe G2 Legends Megatron: This is simple nostalgia, I admit. And I love the little guy because he reminds me of the original. He pairs very well with RtS Legends Prime, OR Spychangers Prime.
Takara BW TM1 Megatron: Awesome figure, stupendously show accurate, great looking in both modes.
Target Exclusive Cyberverse Commander Megatron: The purple and black one. He just looks so freaking good in that color scheme.

Note: I don't own them but I feel that RiD Mega/Galvatron or Generations WfC Megatron would be on the list if I did.

    1. Animated Leader Class
    2. Classics/United Voyager
    3. Beast Wars TM1
    4. Beast Wars TM2
    5. Cybertron (especially the Galvatron repaint)

Honorable mention goes to the unreleased Marauder Megatron mold from Animated which would be my #1 if it ever saw the light of day.

    Masterpiece
    United
    War for Cybertron
    RTS Legends

Are the only ones I've ever owned besides G1 (and I owned G1 when I was a kid), and classics (which is clearly inferior to United) so I can't even come up with 5 although I do like the looks of several others.

    5. Cybertron Leader (though I like the Galvatron deco better, still a cool toy))
    4. WfC Deluxe (I have all four versions of this mold...'bot mode is great and I obviously like the deco on each version)
    3. Robots in Disguise (nifty, my favorite multi-mode toy)
    2. Beast Wars Transmetal (well, the Takara Metals version anyways...on its own, a fun toy with an amusing roller-skating T-Rex mode...unless you own the Hasbro version, what's not to love?)
    1. Animated Leader (this one still owns the Megatron championship figure belt for me...waiting on the upcoming new MP Megs and that unlicensed Voyagerish Megs to see if they're worthy contenders, and I'd love to see a DotM Leader if it ever actually happened)

Honorable Mentions: Beast Wars 10th Anniversary, Alternity, Beast Wars Transmetal II, Prime FE Deluxe, DotM Cyberverse

    1. G1
    2. Henkei
    3. Beast Wars (Toys R Us excl. w/ remolded head)
    4. Energon (the smaller scale Toys R Us excl.)
    5. G2 green tank

1.G1 : Triggercrotch & mini face FTW ! Nothing beats this chromed beauty. I Love the proportions and altmode best too.

    2. DOTM : Degenerate in screenplay, but back to true robots in disguise roots with a fitting altmode. Heck, this design would have also worked had Megatron been in top shape.

    3. Machine Wars Megaplex : True G1 vibe in F22 raptor mode. I would have loved to see a bigger higher budget version of this.

    4. ROTF Voyager : A true oddball Megatron, but awesome nonetheless.

    5. G2 Mini tank : Way better than its huge G2 brother.

    Awesome Thread.

    5. Cybertron galvatron/megatron leader Absolutely one of the most massive megatrons ever. Its got tons of play value as a triple changer and the gatling gun converts from one of his wheels. Very cool.
    4. Classics/ Henkei voyager Megatron. I still have my classics megatron because his vibrant colors make me fondly nostalgic for the orginal classics line. Really the toxic green and decepticon purple were'nt that bad. But the henkei version shows what the mold was really capable of.
    3. G2 Tank Megatron (Green). Rapid Fire missiles with Electronic reloading and fireing sounds. Comparable in size to a modern Leader class figure. This Megatron has the headsculpt that more suits the G1 megatron character art than the original, and was the definitive megatron in my collection for ages.
    2. Generations Cybertron mode megatron: No matter which of the four decos you pick, This is a solid looking megatron and a incredibly sturdy deluxe in general.
    1. Animated Leader Megatron. Super megatron is essentially realized as a toy. With modern articulation, a fusion cannon and a pair of rotor blade swords this Megatron commands respect in any Generation.
