As the title says, what's your preferred method of payment for sales transactions on the boards and why? I expect Paypal to be the predominant form of payment, but am eager to hear from those that prefer using cash and money orders.

Mine is Paypal. I just think it's convenient regardless of the fees involved. You don't have to sit around, waiting for payment to arrive via mail that you have to make a special trip to cash or deposit.

I also figured I'd aim this question at frequent buyers and sellers that rely strictly on cash or money orders: what's your reason for not having a Paypal account?

Paypal all the way. The only time I ever paid for an online purchase in cash was when I met the guy in person.

Usually Paypal, but if the guy has no other choice I don't mind money/postal orders or cash- on the stipulation that the item doesn't ship til I see the money.

I know I'm trustworthy, but I do find it hard at times to trust others. Bar the UK team, our chaps are all aces :thumb

    Cash or blood.

Easier to avoid the taxman that way.

Only joking, Paypal seems to be the easiest way, but really cash would be best (assuming Mr Mailman doesn't help himself).

Maybe so, but you can't go through life not trusting anyone. Besides, places such as E-bay have buyer protection to protect you from theives and bandits.

I would say Cash, but not send cash.

I prefer to do meetups or buy at a Collectors Con.

    When online, Paypal.

Why do you deal exclusively with MO? Is it fear of having your information compromised?

Pretty much Paypal for me for any transaction. There's so much more protection for BOTH parties involved when it comes to sales and information. There's also the convenience of not having to wait for your payment in the mail and you don't have to make an extra trip to the bank or somewhere to cash/deposit it.

Paypal is the best way... but I have sent $$ for something small, say less than $10 and if I knew the person fairly well. Worked for me..here on the boards. Don't think I would do that outside the TFW community tho.
