If you were righting the script for Transformers 4, or any other movie-based story, what would the story be about? Characters? Etc.?

As for me, don't expect a long, actual story like article. I tend to forget what I'm typing about midw.

Autobots Characters: Optimus, Ratchet, Bumblebee, Dino, Sideswipe, Wreckers, Sliverbolt, Windcharger, Perceptor, Beachcomber

Decepticon Characters: Straxus, Sixshot, Shockwave, Flatline, Astrotrain, Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, Ravage(s), Unicron

    Plot Points;

    * 3 years later, Sam and Carly are married and moved far, far away from the Autobots.

    * Straxus has come to Earth to harold the coming of Unicron.

    * Windcharger is often "picked on" by the other Bots. He's kinda a nerd. But still useful, and they know.

    * Perceptor is Aperture Science embodied in a Transformer. Science isn't about "Why?" It's "Why not?"

    * Silverbolt is the same as in the DOTM game at first, changes into same vehicle as Stratosphere. Same robot mode, though.

    * Dino finally called "Mirage". "Dino" is covered as a nickname tha he grew out of.

    * Beachcomber first to find 'Cons after 4 years. Killed by 'Con contact, leaving them still secret. So they think. Autobots recognize Decepticon weapon mark on Beachcomber's body.

    * Flatline has 2 Ravage-like 'Cons recover Megatron, Soundwave, and Starscreams bodies. Rebuilds them as mindless servants for Straxus.

    * Sixshot under belief that Unicron is a 'noble' cause. Straxus wants to be Unicrons favorite, to gain power.

    * Shockwave survived, but still has the damaged eye and broken ribs from Chicago.

    * Astrotrain remembers Jetfire fondly.

    * Straxus levels Las Vegas to create a welcoming ground for "Lord" Unicron, unaware that it'll still take years for him to get here.

    * Flatline once refers to Straxus "lord". Straxus is furious, claming Unicron is the only "Lord"

    * Sixshot turns into a jet, helicopter, tank, speedster, and wolf (all cybertronian design)

    * NEST plans to fire a space shuttle to learn more about Unicron, against the Autobots recommandations. Space shuttle turns out to be Astrotrain, and kills Leadfoot and Mirage before escaping with Sixshot.

    * Straxus does not transform.

    * Silverbolt transports the other 'Bots to the devastated Las Vegas strip. Sideswipe makes crack about our motto "What happens here, stays here"

    * Optimus asks the NEST forces not to intervene, but they do anyway. Causes massive casualties for them.

    * No Decepticon drones, only named characters destroy Las Vegas.

    * Perceptor and Windcharger try building more weapons out of whatever they find.

    * Thankfully, Las Vegas suberbs are spared (Straxus doesn't want to waste time with us) Only the strip and downtown get totalled. Suburbs evacuated.

    * Straxus makes a statement about gaining power from Unicron, to which Sixshot take major offense and defects. Not to Autobots, more-or-less his own mission man.

    * Astrotrain ripped apart by Topspin and Roadbuster as vengeance for Leadfoot.

    * Sixshot leaves, with no where to go and no one to trust.

    * Shockwave has his head blown off of his neck by Sixshot during his defection.

    * Flatline escapes.

    * Straxus is ambushed by the Autobots. Ratchet gives him some resemblence to Megs, with the whole "half head" look. Before finishing him, Optimus asks more about Unicron. Straxus commits suicide with a nearby lightpole through his good eye, letting the information die with him.

    * The Megatron, Starscream, and Soundwave 'drones' are subdued to be studies, but they all break free. Their killed by Optimus, Ratchet, and Perceptor after 3 long, individual fights.

    * Optimus Prime finishes with a speech about not knowing what will happen next, but swears that the Autobots will protect their new home with every fiber of their beings.

Yeah, not the best, but it's a good shot. (In the dark). I may fix it later, if I get any good ideas.

    1) Nice sig, fatesmagic.
    2) Maybe a prequel. Like the war on cybertron. Remember how Lucas filmed Star wras episodes 4, 5, and 6 first? He then did 1, 2, and 3 as a prequel. That's what I would do.

I liked your idea more for a comic or something like it, I think it's too convolluted to put in film.

My idea was always something like that:

    First twenty minutes of movie:

    - Story set twenty years later in the future, when Earth is in peace with the Autobots, Optimus and his team were dismantled [Sam and Carly moved away].

    - Ratchet works with ONU to help to advance human's medicine [curing countless diseases along the way].

    - Sideswipe and Mirage ["Dino" is his nickname, and he hates it, always correcting people when they call him like that] are members of the USA's army [and are good friends].

    - BB has a new friend: Hot Rod, he and Hot Rod [and his random human partner] are in charge of hunting the remaining Decepticons and "welcoming" any New Autobots.

    - BB and Hot Rod discover that Lockdown/Shockwave and Straxus forces are storing Energon on Earth, they try to stop him but BB gets killed.

    - Hot Rod [and his random human parter] warns the Autobots of the new threat, and tries to make his deppressed IDOL [Optimus] to work again to stop this thread.

    - Alpha Trion arrives on Earth with his ship, the Omega Supreme in his alt-mode, and warns The Autobots that Lord Straxus [and his ship, The Trypticon in his alt-mode] is heading to the center of the Universe to get some MacGuffin.

    - The Autobots assemble [alongside some humans] and head to the MacGuffin.

Along the way to the MacGuffin, dangers appear:

    - A bunch of Scraplets invade Optimus' ship and damage the systems, almost kills Mirage, but Ratchet and Optimus manage to control the invasion after some scenes of general havoc.

[cuts to Straxus, with a shitload of his troops killed, but the invasion controlled].

    - Spies of Straxus infiltrate on the ship [Those being The Stunticons], leading to an action scene between The Wreckers, Sideswipe, Dino and The Spies, the Spies eventually escape.

    - A scene of characterization to the main Autobots: Hot Rod talks with Optimus about the meaning of being an Autobot.

    - Characterization for the villains, Straxus complaining about the Stunticons' incompetence.

    FINAL SHOWDOWN:

    - They arrive at the Core of the Universe to fight for the MacGuffin, leading to:

    - Military Drones [made by Ratchet] facing off Straxus' Drones.
    - The Wreckers, Sideswipe and Dino VS Stunticons.
    - Ratchet VS Lockdown/Shockwave.
    - Optimus and Hot Rod against Straxus.

Eventually, Omega Supreme and Trypticon would transform to their robot modes, clashing in the final combat [as all of the above fight on a nearby moon or planet/somewhere else].

Autobots win, Trypticon and Straxus both die.
    The Stunticons retreat.

    Stinger:
    - Far way, Stunticons speak to Other TF: Overlord, who is not pleased with Straxus' death.

These are just ideas, not nearly enough to be considered a fanfiction.

Here's my TF4 idea, and yeah it would be a sequel and the start of a new trilogy. Tonally, it would be similar to the Bay movies (big summer action/sci-fi with a substantial human interest). But the themes would be a bit more heavy and darker due to the contents of the plot (compare Harry Potter V to Harry Potter VI). It would approach it as Pirates 4 did: a single entry that sets up the trilogy.

The first three films have three major unresolved plot threads: the origin of the AllSpark, the impending extinction of the Transformers as a race, and the fact that the Prime lineage has been corrupted twice now. The sequel trilogy should answer all three.

The first movie (TF4) should revolve around Prime recognizing that Megatron and Sentinel were right in one respect: the transformers are dying, and as far as they know, only a few autobots are left. Whereas once there were billions, there are now tens, if that. Living as refuegees on Earth, not protected by NEST or the government as in the past, they try to keep hidden and to themselves, not hated, but not welcome. Early in the film, to reinforce this point, an Autobot (maybe Ratchet?) will die at the hands of a human using technology appropriated since the Decepticon invasion. One transformer death at this point, is a double digit percentage closer step to the exctinction of their race.

Optimus will resolve to reverse this tide of fate by taking and raising the hatchlings still in stasis aboard the abandoned Nemesis. To do this, he and several Autobots take a ship to the Asteroid Belt to use the stargate there, the stargate being the manner in which the Transformers traverse interstellar distances (it being a kind of space bridge), and is how Megatron visited the Nemesis in RotF, and how the Ark arrived in our Solar system in the first place. The Matrix of Leadership (which holds the knowledge and power of the AllSpark), which has never left Earth orbit, reacts unusually with the Stargate and thrusts the ship out of our universe once it passes through.

The ship emerges into another universe, a universe of shadows and haziness. It is a realm of utter clastraphobic darkness. Space is not void, but criss-crossed with metal fibers and infrastrcture, Transformer like infrastructure. But it is dead, everything is dead. And through the course of the first third film, that is what we find that this universe is, the Dead Universe. It is the Universe that existed, for trillions upon trillions of years, before ours did before it entered a state of maximum entropy and all the stars went out (in much the same way our universe will one day). This was the home of the creators of the AllSpark, who sought to escape this dead universe and rebuild their existence in the new universe by sending it through the breach. The AllSpark, in essence, is a civilization-in-a-box, and the Cybertronians (like the Fallen) its first attempt to repopulate this universe with the inhabitants of the form of the previous one.

But that is not all that lies in the Dead Universe. Transformer life, the spark, is energy. Energy can only transformed, and within this Dead Universe, Optimus finds the legions of the dead of Cybertron... Megatron, Starscream, Ironhide, Jazz, and billions others mindlessly battling, fighting as if they were alive, thinking they are alive, fighting their own pointless, surreal battles.

Optimus, being very much alive with the Matrix inside of him, encounters the warden of the dead universe, the keeper of its prisoners and the herald of the god of this Universe... Galvatron. Galvatron was one of the Primes. He was the first to die in fact, at the hands of the Fallen and emerged in the dead universe, where he was warped and twisted by the collective conscousness of the creators of the AllSpark, the only "alive" life form of the Dead Universe. Corrupted by trillions of years of decay and the empty hunger of the void, it has become, in a sense, the Dead Universe itself. It is none other than Unicron (yes in this incarnation, Unicron is the artificial structure that seems to make up the entire Dead Universe). Unicron is the union of the sentience of the AllSpark's creators, who are attracted to energy, to light and to life like an infection.

Galvatron drives Optimus and his crew out of the Dead Universe (Megatron and many other "name" Transformers follow him through the breach). Galvatron, being so warped by Unicron and ignorant of his origins, is surprised that our Universe exists and traverses through it with his servants, Cyclonus and Scourge (who is a "Nemesis Prime" in this incarnation). Everything they touch corrupts it into a "Dead" version of it, from Transformers, to buildings, to people. They plan to use the Matrix in Optimus' chest to reignite the dormant Pillars and allow Unicron (the artificial structure and semi-sentience of the Dead Universe) to emerge into this one through a giant breach to feed on the life and light that it has hungered for for countless trillions of years.

Most of this film (two-thirds of it) is then, a pursuit movie, with the Autobots and their new, fewer human allies on the run across the United States to keeep the Matrix out of the hands of Galvatron and the US military, which wants to take the Matrix and seal the breach itself. Meanwhile Megatron, Starscream and Soundwave are out and about, being the unpredictable third faction in this case... will they help Galvatron and avenge themselves on the Autobots? Or will they help save the Universe from infection by Unicron?

Optimus is forced to confront the terrible truth: he can bring a rebirth to his race, and even Cybertron, by rescuing the billions of once-dead Transformers trapped in the Dead Universe, and the Matrix, being of the stuff of the AllSpark is the key to this hazy realm, but to do it would allow Unicron to spread into our universe like an infection, would endager Earth, and would a scheme comparable to the Fallens' ambitions to blow up the sun, or Sentinel Prime's ambitions to summon Cybertron. Can he defeat Galvatron, protect humanity while saving his race, without compromising himself, as the other 'Primes' have?

Ideally, it would end with Galvatron and Unicron pushed back into the Dead Universe (though the breach is not sealed), Optimus having brought back many thousands of transformers (though not all) from across the breach without compromising himself like Sentinel Prime and the Fallen did, and Megatron and the Decepticon elite out there, in space, with the reformed, reconstituted AllSpark formed from the broken Matrix and the Nemesis Hatchlings, ready to god knows what. Like the start of any good trilogy, everyone wins some, loses some.

This idea would allow for the return of popular "major" Transformers thought dead from 2007 through DotM, while also allowing for an all new human cast. It also visits the Galvatron and Unicron concepts in ways that I think, are more consistent with the tone of the movie series than the classic interpretation.

Transformers 5 would deal with the new reality of hundreds of thousands of Transformers living on Earth, side by side with humans, as refugees, while Optimus and Megatron scramble to recruit transformers into their factions. This film would basically be a the purest Autobots vs Decepticons movie since the first. Megatron's trump card though, is Vector Sigma, a cybertronian "bacteria", harmless on Cybertron, that converts the natural to the artificial. He seeks to litterally, create Cybertron on Earth via terraforming the planet into a machine world. The film would end with Starscream deposing Megatron (in his moment of triumph) to become leader of the Decepticons. But the places Vector Sigma already has a foothold are not able to be reverted.

Transformers 6 would involve the on-his-own Megatron and his plan to litterally "conquer the universe" by bringing Unicron into this universe from the Dead Universeand merging with it and uses Vector Sigma as a way to spread himself over all of creation. If he succeeds, he will essentially become the stuff of the universe. The rest of the world is distracted by the reality of an impending, possible, Third World War, as every country in the world is chooses sides: the US lead faction, aligned with the Autobots, or the China lead faction, aligned with Starscream's Decepticons. With millions of transformers on Earth now, and their technology becoming highly valued, this is a much bigger problem than the mere alien raids of DotM and RotF. Starscream shares weapons technology with his allied nations, the Autobots do not. And what is this cold war, about to turn hot, over? Freedom vs Tyranny, and at last (from a G1 perspective) sources of energy.

As a starting point, Lennox discusses the human concept of technological singularity with Optimus.
Lennox: "The idea is that as technology improves, we'll eventually reach a point where our computers, our machines, learn to make more of themselves. The theory goes that at point, technology will no longer need us to create it, and so we, humans, will either get left behind, or worse, get wiped out. So, just wondering. Who made the Allspark, and did it outgrow them, or outgun them?"

I would hope to finally see a character development arc for Prime and Bumblebee, as they learn about the origins of their race, the Primes, and the Allspark. At the same time, humanity would get a glimpse of its own onrushing future, and be forced to choose between the lure of technology and its dangers.

    Mine,

Having felt betrayed by the humans for exiling them from Earth in DOTM, most of the Autobots have went their separate ways on Earth. Only Optimus remains with Nest to help trackdown and destroy the remaining decepticons. We learn that Optimus sent Cosmos to find a suitable replacement for Cybertron during the war (This would be before the Ark leaves, but after he lauched the All Spark into space.) Cosmos finds a planet but Unicron comes along and destroys/consumes it. He flees the planet with the last survivor, which is a biological alien. He some how crashes on 1947 Earth at Roswell, N.M. (wormhole involved), Optimus learns of this somehow. (Seems the Ark on the moon wasn't the only thing kept from him by the humans.) After reviving Cosmos with the Matrix, he tells Optimus about Unicron. Optimus somehow learns more about Unicron from the Matrix, he learns the All Spark created Unicron.

After learning of his master's defeat. Igor (He's smarter that he seems cause Megatron was using him as a spy to spy on the Decepticons to make sure they remain loyal to him, and the dumbness was part of his disguise) revives all the decepticon Seekers on Earth with help from the remaining decepticons from the moon, and seeks revenge for his master being killed. All the main Decepticons from DOTM (Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, and Shockwave), were trashed with the Nemesis on the moon of Saturn after the events of DOTM.

NASA or the military detects something near Saturn's moon from Earth, it's Unicron. Unicron finds and rebuilds Megatron as Galvatron, Sentinel Prime as Nemisis Prime, and restores the other main decepticons to their former selves and the Nemesis. Unicron tells Galvatron if he'll destroy the Matrix, its the only thing that can stop him, (yes like in Transformers the Movie.) that he'll restore Cybertron. Galvatron agrees and he and the others come back to Earth, and join the Seekers and Igor. After Optimus learns of Megatron's return to Earth as Galvatron he sends Bumblebee (Who is now back with Sam) to try and convince the other Autobots to return. Sam and Carly go along with him since they trust them.

That's all I have so far, Sam and Carly would be planning their Wedding in the beginning.

There'd also be a scene where new Autobots come to Earth in a new ship.

I'll be writing a fan-fic soon on it.

    Alright.

The Decepticons are warring amongst themselves without a leader. Various factions come to earth to cause havoc and prove their individual leader's worth as overall leader of the Decepticons. (Individual groups such as Combaticons, Predacons, Triple Changers, etc)

The Autobots are having to react to this and prevent human casualties. Sam now works with NEST as an intelligence officer, and learns that a much larger faction of 'cons is heading towards earth - an army the size of which would dwarf the Chicago force. A third wave of Autobots arrive during the chaos (probably under Prowl's command) and set about aiding the NEST teams around Earth.

Sam has to negotiate with foreign governments to gain allies to defend against the coming army. Eventually the vanguard arrives under the command of Lugnut (who turns into an Airbus A380 and is thus huge) and begins landing troops througout the world. Although the Autobots fight hard, many of their defensive lines falter and the Decepticons gain a foothold. Barely recovered from his wounds from the fight with Sentinel, Optimus leads a suicidal charge into the main Decepticon forces, managing to kill Lugnut and shatter the landing forces, at the cost of most of his closest warriors. He himself is grievously wounded, but knows that the main force is yet to arrive. Deciding that he has no options remaining, he surrenders the Matrix to Ratchet - to safeguard until another Prime can be found. Alone, he boards Prowl's ship, and heads off to face the army in space.

In the Decepticon flagship, a nervous Decepticon reports to a shadowed giant on a throne. Informing him that Optimus Prime is incoming, and that they should raise weapons, the Decepticon waits nervously. "I gave no such command." Overlord rises from the throne and steps into the light, crushing the Decepticon's head in his fist. "Let him come." He grins sadistically, licking the slain Decepticon's juices off his fingers. The camera moves into his red eye and the words "To be continued" form.

The good thing is, if Shia doesn't want to come back, the Sam role can be replaced by someone new. Hurray!

I'd just love to see a movie style Overlord. I think, with the amount of insane robo-gore in the movies, he'd be right at home.

Part 2 would feature Optimus dying, the other con factions uniting with the Bots to stop overlord, Overlord eventually being turned upon by his own troops for sending them into meat grinders, Overlord killing his own troops but being taken down by auobot and decepticon combiner teams. The Autobots and Cons would declare a temporary ceasefire whilst the heavily mauled cons leave earth. The Autobots would then follow suit, leaving to follow Prowl's rumours that there may still be a Prime hiding out in the stars.

I'd set the movie quite a few years from now, allowing for a reasonable reason to bring in new characters and make others go away without having to kill them (they're elsewhere) When Cybertron was being transported, 2 beings escaped from its core-Primus and Unicron. for the last 15 years or so, they've been battling in space, with Cyclonus leading Unicron to the most poerful source of energon he can find-the Matrix. Galvatron can happen, we can get a decent Rodimus-one that doesnt ruin everything, and at the end, the Matrix makes him into Rodimus Prime. Something to that effect

Probably impossible outside of a Prime-style animation. Also, more than likely to bomb big style. :(

Here's my story (if it were to be a movie, not fan fic)

It would start as Transformers 4, not a reboot.

They left it open in the end of the 3rd film, so I would say there are a ton of other Decepticons that are roaming around and that the war was far from over.

About 6 months have passed and the world is looking REALLY grim. Mass destruction has taken place, a few more of the main Autobots' lives have been taken and all that remain of the original crew are Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. NEST has pretty much been wiped out due to the overbearing power of the alien technology and satellites being wiped out. Basically Earth is nearing its end because of the devastation caused by the battle between the Cybertronians. Sam is gone too.

One character emerges that is a new edition to the Autobot warriors and through some means I haven't yet thought of how, possibly from recovering some of the pillars and engineering a special technology the Decepticons become aware of them working on, this Autobot can utilize the device ONCE for transporting to another time. The idea being sorta a bit like Back to the Future to change the course of events. Optimus' master plan is to send this being back with all the information they have on the Allspark and Megatron to warn Bumblebee many years before and try to prevent things from happening the way they have on Earth.

Just before this happens though, the fate of the Autobots comes to a terrible end, as the Decepticons catch up with them and manage to kill Optimus and Bumblebee. It is now up to this small warrior to travel back, locate Bumblebee and call upon the Autobots again to help determine hopefully a new fate of Planet Earth. This moment in time would be years before Sam and there is only enough power in it to travel back as far as 30 years.... which would be in the 1980's.

(the reason for not sending Optimus or any of those guys back would be that double existence problem of a character existing in 2 time periods at the same time).

1980's. Technology is inferior in comparison and things are much different. The humans are mostly moved out of the spotlight in the film. Perhaps some side things, but the robots story should be key here. And when this Autobot warrior goes back the device ceases to ever work again and is destroyed. There is no going back and traveling to/from. That part is done. On learning the English language and there being no existence of the Web yet I don't know how to go about that, except maybe satellite technology or something....

Now despite the warrior locating Bumblebee and calling out on the Autobots (Optimus and the original gang and maybe others?) to band together and find and relocate the cube, history will tend to find itself repeating as Decepticons hiding among the human world in plain site will find the Autobot Warrior at some point and find this information the autobots now have, pop off the informant, and then and race to free the still frozen Megatron from the Hoover Dam and get to the cube. Events will play out differently in that despite the knowledge they have.

The Autobots will get posession of the cube and take it far off somewhere not many humans are on Earth (maybe area 51) and Megatron will call upon his Decepticon servants to wage war on Earth between them and the Autobots for the Allspark.

At least that's a start to it I was thinking of. I only said the 1980's so that we could see the autobots taking on a closer to G1 form, hehe...

It would be a way to start a new story, but creating an alternate universe and an opportunity for a completely different story path for the Transformers franchise.

I know some people might be tired of the time travel idea, but this was my own thought to not writing off the other films and rebooting, but acknowledging them, wrapping up that storyline and beginning a new one.

I like this one. The other posts were good but delved a bit too much into the Transformers mythology...and we all know Hollywood would only serve to "F" that up. This premise here kind of allows non-Transformer fans/geeks to follow without knowing too much of the history.

I like this idea as well. Especially the warring amongst themselves, each seeking to take charge. This could make for an interesting movie indeed.

    Get this man a medal!

Only worry is that it would mostly be CGI probably. Might have the Avatar effect, bring in BAAAAAAARE money but A LOT of people hate it... :(

Two words, Nemesis Prime. Lots of fans have been surprised by how dark movie Optimus has been. All there has to be is some sort of malfunction or other influence *cough* Unicron *cough* and Optimus can turn evil. It could actually be a good plot if done right.
