    Where Decepticons are concerned:

Nukes only for top-tier players like Shockwave or Megatron.

Nothing short of an all-out artillery bombardment for mid-level players like Seeker jets and Soundwave.

A Phoenix missile should be capable of taking out minor players like Ravage or Laserbeak.

Autobots would have slightly lower durability than Decepticons; adjust the above accordingly for them.

The basic notion of the franchise is supposed to be that TFs are awesomely technologically advanced simply based upon their very nature.

They are still made of matter, but are insanely durable, can self-repair to some extent, can power their systems using an energy source we cannot use or fully understand, and some of them have abilities that are definitely "super-science" to us.

I always go with the notion that sustained, powerful attacks on a Transformer from human weaponry could potentially destroy one, especially in the cases of tanks, artillery, aerial bombardment (but not the blastwave in RotF), and so on, but that it wouldn't be easy, especially in the Tf in question were actively fighting back.

For example, your average Seeker could outfly anything we can put in the air, has weaponry more advanced than ours, tends to not run out of ammunition in a typical fight, can take off or land in moments from any terrain, can withstand damage that would tear an actual jet to pieces in flight, and can also transform and fight as a gigantic, powerful infantry soldier who can also still fly.

    That's just terrifying.

Yeah, I hate that they even show the military taking down Decepticons in the live movies. It shouldn't be possible.

I like how it was portrayed in the movies, with only airstrikes and certain types of ammo hurting Decepticons, and even then only wounding unless hit somewhere vulnerable. Not to mention the ammo was likely specifically designed by S7 to damage Transformers.

By the time of RoTF I'm more than willing to accept that after however long S7 was poking and prodding Megatron, and two years of helping to fight Decpeticons, we'd have some developments in weaponry to help fight them. Especially after the war becomes public knowledge after RoTF.

It really strains belief, though, that the Decepticons have apparently done absolutely nothing to counter said advancements.

I think it needs to be extraordinary humans only that can harm them rather than the military being able to pull something off the shelf to stop them.

So if a human hero with advanced technology like Iron Man or Batman fights them then yea they should be able to pull something out of the super science bag of tricks that would work.

Technologically, humans might be able to do some damage, especially if they've been cannibalizing Cybertronian tech as it is...but as Sparkplug pointed out in AHM, the Decepticons are being led by a military genius the likes of which the Army's never faced; in most continuities, the war's lasted for millennia - that much combat experience should mean something, especially on a comparatively primitive mudball such as this.

Hey, an old thread of mine. Hooray.

Let us take a moment to morn the suckiness of the TFP Vehicons which has been replaced by cringe worthy shitness. Now they get thrown of ships for comical effect and slaughtered by Follower.

Personally, if you take into account that the civil war has been raging for millennia, by now one side would have won. And yet that has not happened. So, what I think is that the TFs, being robots, can only do so much before the tactics they use become so overused, the other side knows how to counter them by instinct.

Now, if humans are thrown in, and they can kill a transformer, the TFs would have to adapt, as humans are capable of adapting and using new tactics in battle. Plus, they would have a hard time taking out a smaller species that could kill a transformer by hiding in small spaces. And humans have certain weapons that can kill TFs as well. By observing how a TF is able to move and any weaknesses, a human could kill an alien robot like a transformer.

I like the idea of humans being able to kill Transformers, but with difficulty. It makes the idea seem more realistic and more plausible than just having them be immune to everything we would throw at them.
