Pork (the smell of it & also due to religious beliefs) & sashimi (the thought of putting raw food into my mouth no matter how fresh it is..ugh seems gross!) Btw i luv okra especially when fried w/tempura batter or cooked with curry. umm yum yum .
I can't stand McDonalds and brussel sprouts. Fish is delicious and good for your health. Okra is awesome.
I LOVE Okra! Its so good, esp made in a curry dish. And I love fish. Its just so tender and flaky. Anyone here had Orange Roughy? It is caught deep in the North Sea near Norway and its sooooo expensive. But damn, best fish I've ever had. Incidentally, this is the first time I've been in a thread where people have been civil towards each other. No use of words like "Okra-wunner" or you're stupid for hating X. You should wait until you've had X properly prepared by a top Chef in a nice restaurant with the perfect ambience and good company and...and...and... No one is using lame excuses like "You're ruining the experience for all those of us who don't hate all things with bone-in-chicken". We all know that if we did like bone-in-chicken, we're still gonna eat it anyways no matter what anyone else says..." Everyone just likes what they like, and dislikes what they dislike. People have said on here how they might like something someone else hates or hates something someone else likes. No one is taking it personally as if they are the actual food being hated like "Hey, I come from a long line of Okras! Don't badmouth us." As if disliking canned food is the same as disliking PEOPLE who like canned food. Refreshing...
I had orange roughy SOUP?! Yep. At a Thai restaurant. Unfortunately it was prepared horribly, and it smell like a wet dog. I would love to try that and okra if it was prepared better.
It helps that we don't have our food choices limited by a single company or small group of companies based on the preferences of pickier eaters. Unless we have to live with a person, their food preference really has no significant impact on us. If all chicken were owned and/or licensed by a single entity, we might see a different scenario.
My girlfriend keeps making dishes with kidneys and liver and I just can't get past the odd texture of the meat. I'm pretty open-minded about most other things, although I'll leave off overdolloped condiments like sour cream and mayo whenever I can.
Other than BBQ sauce I HATE condiments....mayo, mustard, rellish, even ketchup, just don't like them on my food. I'm also very texture based. If a food is....for lack of a better term "mushy" I just gag.
As a kid, I used to call them "slime-a beans." They don't bother me anymore, but a dash love lemon juice still helps.
The taste of Coffee and cant stand it in all forms, I cant understand how anyone likes that stuff. and Coconut I hate that all most as much as Coffee!!
Peanut Butter, that stuff is just fucking gross. I hate the taste, the texture, and the smell. Gross on every level.
I've heard that people outside of the Americas generally can't stand peanut butter. Seems you have to be raised on it or something. Same goes for Vegemite outside of Australia, the U.K. and a scant few other territories. I like both. I've always thought it would be amusing to disgust people in every corner of the world by eating a peanut butter & vegemite sandwich... but that actually does sound disgusting, so no.
I'm not that big of a fan of peanut butter, either. I can eat it in moderation, but if it's like a PB&J sandwich I get grossed out if there's more peanut butter than jelly. Scallops are disgusting, too. Blargh. And oysters. Or are they the same thing?
