Mine would have to be beating Thunder Force III, THE FIRST TIME I PLAYED IT (and eventually beating it on hard mode).

    Next in line would be:

Beating Ninja Gaiden I, II, and III

    Beating Ghouls and Ghosts,

and finally Beating Super R-Type on the hardest setting.

Well, as kind of I said in the hardest games thread, beating Super Street Fighter 2 on the highest difficulty without losing a match. Also beating Kid Chamealeon with no cheats.

My favorite, which was just monotonous, was getting Alucard to level 99 in SOTN. As those who may have tried should know, all enemys give you about 1 xp once you reach the higher 60s or lower 70s. So, with levels requiring thousands of xp, it took some time. I ended up giong to the inverted cathedral, where there are floating spears and shields, and equipping the duplicator and power of Sire, then went in and out of the room with the shields and spears using power of sire real fast and then leaving and coming back. Over and over. Since each sheild and spear gave you 1 xp, you would get 10 xp each time. I actually changed the channel and watched TV since I knew exactly how to do this without looking.

Playing Halo2 on the same team with Boardwise and as he was running the enemy flag back I run him over with a Warthog, scoped up the flag and made the score myself.

The very first game that I beat was Hostage:Rescue Mission (PC), it was also named Embassy: Rescue Mission on the NES.

I figured out how to use my detective skills to take down crimals in Dick Tracy for the PC.

Landing an F-16c on an aircraft carrier in JetFighter 2.

Getting 1st place in Starsiege Tribes for the 1st time.

Doing a successful mission for the 1st time in Falcon 4.0 with every setting set to realistic. (took off, attacked, returned to base, and landed)

Mine would be actually finishing a game. I have a short attention span, so it takes a great game to convince me to finish it. Since I've been out of work since January 8th I've finished Super Mario Galaxy, Shadow of the Colossus, God of War, and several other games.

First game I ever beat was Chip & Dale for the NES. I played it at a friend's house after I got to what I thought was the last stage to show off, then I found the 4 extra stages and proceeded to beat them as well right down to the final boss.

Best achievement... Metal Gear Solid 2. One of the few games I can beat on the highest difficulty, and I can get passed the game's infamously difficult Harrier battle without taking a single hit.

Actually, my biggest gaming achievement was breaking free from my FF11 online addiction. Not only did it help me in pretty much every way concerning my life and well being, but it also lead me to playing more of other games that I was neglecting. No more MMORPG's for me.

I can name a few, but one that will always stick out for me..beating Super Ghouls and Ghosts (you have to beat it TWICE to actually finish, and the second go through is more difficult).

Anyone that has played it knows what I mean.

Back in the day, it was getting Captain Falcon in SSB 64 by beating Very hard in under...5 or 15 minutes...I can't quite remember.

That and beating Starfox 64. Two great games.

Yup, Ghouls and Ghosts on Genesis was the same way, I never could beat the SNES one. :(

I beat Star Fox 64 the second day I had it. :mad

    That's a bad thing? :lol

It's not that long of a game. I think it took me...3 hours to beat fully back in grade....5 or 6. But boy was it a fun 3 hours! 3 vehicles, clever bosses, diverse level and alot of hidden routes and content.

I feel like starting that sucker up now...

Hmm...I guess I would consider beating all three Metroid Prime games on hard/hyper mode with 100% item collection a rather impressive achievement.

...come to think of it, I've beaten every Metroid game except II and MP Pinball on the highest difficulty they have to offer.

It could be on any difficulty level...

I don't really have a great achievement, most games I play are the modern, new games, nowhere near as challenging as old school games. I haven't even beaten Super Mario Bros... shame on me. The most recent one I remember was in SSB64, Me(red) vs Captain Falcon + Samus(both blue)

Okay, I'm playing Pyro, and there's a Blu assault team coming towards me. Their Demoman starts shooting grenades while the Heavy opens fire. The first grenade lands behind me and goes off, and it jumps me straight into the middle of them! I managed to flame every one of those bastards before they got me.

It was wicked. I changed my name to Flying Pyro for a while after that.

    +1 for playing Pyro. Pyros > *

I'm not sure what mine would be. 7 day survivor in Dead Rising and Mile High Club in COD 4 were difficult, but not that hard once you learn how to do each of them.

Landing on the aircraft carrier in Top Gun (NES). I considered it to be close enough to beat it. XD Being undefeated in Samurai Showdown IV back when there was an arcade version in the area is another. So is getting vengeance on some guy at an arcade who interrupted my friend and I the first time we got to play Samurai Showdown VI. We were screwing around and trying out new characters and he was smug about beating me when I was using someone I had never used before. Went back and got Genjuro and defeated him.
