was curious what are your thoughts on the fact the features will be exclusive to the BLu-Ray version and Movie trilogy 7 disc edition Only.

i myself i am okay with it, i would had been dissapoint, but since i got a PS3, That means i can watch the features, but i would had liked to see the features on my PC as i dont have a blu-ray player on my PC

Well I really wanted it, but I was getting the feeling that we were not going to get it because I noticed films coming out this year that only have bonus features on Blu Ray. Now I know the world pushes the latest thing and they want to make money but come on at least give the people something who still have DVD. I am going to get the 3D combo pack even though I dont have a Blu Ray and that I dont own a copy of the film yet, so this way I can watch it on DVD and when I get a Blu Ray player I can enjoy the bonus features;)

I am still upset that we are not getting deleted scenes, at least not yet.....

    Disappointed.

I need to get myself a PS3 if all the good crap is on Blu-Ray only now. Sigh...

I am incredibly disappointed by it. I will not get a 3D TV and I don't need a DVD and Blueray and whatever the other was (there was another right?) of the film. Just one. Also, I have a PS3 so I can play Bluerays but I will never buy a Blueray player and when the next generation (or whatever they're called) of consoles comes out, I'll probably get an Xbox. They seem to have better stuff.

Honestly, even if they only release special features with Blueray, I wish they'd do a two disk Blueray set instead of

I'm glad to hear but assumed that. I was just pointing out I don't have and never will have any use for the 3D disk.

Don't care. Unless there's some earth shattering revelation that I can't see on YOotube.

This isn't the first case of this happening. A lot of movies over the past couple years have only released special features on Blu-Ray. We're in the middle (well, still towards the beginning of the middle) of the process of phasing out dvd.

Everyone here except the super-young probably remembers when VHS got phased out towards the end of the 1990s. Same thing. It's not worth complaining about.

Yes it is. BlueRays cost too much. Plus the main problem here is how many disks are sold with it.

Really? Most new BD stuff on release is comparable in price -- if not cheaper -- than DVD was this early in its life cycle.

New movies get released on Blu-Ray, and if you look around, you will find most of them for around $20-$25.

Last year's movies right now on amazon:

    new Harry Potter BD: $14.99
    Captain America/Thor: $24.99
    X-Men First Class: $20
Rise of the Planet of the Apes: $24.99
    Green Lantern: $14.99
    Fast Five $19.99
    Super 8: $22.99
    etc., etc.

And a lot of the big movies from a couple years ago and earlier are sold for under $15.

    Blu-Rays aren't that expensive.

Yeah... if you are in Australia, I guess your experience may vary.

But look on the bright side. I bet you guys still have it better than the Japanese. There, even the dvd version of DotM is more than $30 (and suggested retail is over $40).

I'm missing the option "I don't care because I buy blurays only anyway"

I held off on getting DOTM because I was waiting for the 2-disc DVD version. While it sucks that we are not getting one, I do understand why they would make it BluRay-only (though it does not bode that well for BluRay if they need to resort to these tactics to get people to upgrade from DVD to BluRay). I guess I'll be getting the single-disc DVD instead.

I was curious about a few shots from the trailers and TV spots that didn't actually make it into the film. For example, we see Sam with Lennox during the DC invasion sequence, but this isn't shown in the final cut.
