Not, Console, not game, but Developer/Publisher.

After playing some Neverwinter Nights last night, I realized that Bioware has never let me down, dating all the way back to Baldur's Gate on the PC. They have a quality tightness and consistancy to their games, and that same quality shows in even their more recent games. While it seems to be a sleeper, Dragon Age is one of the RPGs I am looking forward to the most this year. And of course that other Effect game.

I would say outside of them, maybe Naughty Dog, Bethesda and Media Molecule (but that last one is on a trial run, since they are new).

    Probably Bioware.

They made a sci game I enjoyed playing more than any Final Fantasy. I remember a couples years back people were recommending Mass Effect and I was like, I just can't get into it. "too spacey", wow was I wrong.

Nintendo will always have a special place in my heart for it's SNES developed games.

i've always liked konami, metal gear, snatcher, sunset riders, turtles, pro evo, sparkster.... all games i have sunk many hours into and thoroughly enjoyed.

also much love for capcom of course, devil may cry, dead rising, street fighter.... although their dlc policy is fueled by Hitler's zombie corpse.

Developer: Bioware. I love all of their games even the Sonic RPG.
Publisher: Capcom. Although, yeah, their current DLC policy is turning my stomach.

I know they have their flaws, but EA Sports is mine. I'm a huge Madden fan and have been playing for year. Best sim Football game out there. Next would probably be Activision cause I enjoyed their Spidey games and look forward to Ultimate Allaince 2. And I like their work on Call of Duty.

VALVe and Gamefreak for keeping me thoroughly entertained since the 90's.

Probably toss in Bethesda as a runner up.

Sorry to single you out, d00d, but that's a hollow statement considering it's the only NFL Football game out there.
Excuse me while I go hug my copy of NFL 2K5.

Hmn, I guess I would also put Harmonix on my list...

I dunno, Capcom have been there, consistently, for me since I was a wee lad, not even Nintendo have kept my interest that long.

    Konami
    Square
    Capcom
Atlus/NIS(Tided, I like both companies equally)
Clover(Shame they went under, they make great games.)
    Bio-Ware

And I dunno if anyone's heard of this company before, they were around the time of the PS1 and made some pretty good RPGs like Vanguard Bandits, and the Arc the Lad series.

    It's Working Designs

No you didn't. That's why I also put Publisher. You were right in saying Konami, but Kojima is Konami, so you were still right.

    Working Designs!

I have good memories of them. They actually started during the 16 bit days.
They didn't make their games -exactly.
They localized games, primarily JRPGs, for us English speaking customers; but they did so with honor and dignity.

Back then it was unheard of to have color instruction books let alone art books and soundtrack CDs, but Working Designs did them all.
But their biggest contribution was just respect for the property they were working on.
Prior to Working Designs setting a new standard dialog like "All men have evil in their hearts. Some are merely able to conceal it better than others." would have been more like "He is bad."

I consider Atlus their spiritual successor.

    Valve.

The Half-Life series, Portal, Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 can speak for themselves.
