With the Oscar wrapping up another decade of cinema last night, I decided to make this thread.

For me I would have LoTR: Return of The King, because it's just jaw-dropping amazing.

Second place would go to The Departed, because it was great crime drama by Scorsese which the acting and story are superb.

Third would be last night's winner The Hurt Locker because it's great depiction the life of a trio of soldiers in the Iraqi War.

Honorable Mentions: No Country for Old Men and Million Dollar Baby

I've to go with Crash. It was a pretty good movie.

I'd have to say Gladiator, simply because I love Roman history. Nevertheless, I think LOTR despite it being a third film was the academy's way of honoring of the entire trilogy not just that individual film.

Going with Lord of the Rings on this one.

Personally,I still think Brokeback Mountain should have gotten the Best Picture award instead of Crash.I felt ripped off in some way.

I've seen embarrassingly few of those. So I went for ROTK.

I've only seen Return of the King, so...yeah. :lol

I still think The Dark Knight should've beaten Slumdog Millionare for Best Picture, then it'd be an easy choice, even if I haven't seen the others.

Of those, I've seen... almost everything, surprisingly, just missing out on Chicago.

I'd totally give it to Return of the King. Not only was it a great movie, but it has the spectacle to make it worth rewatching again and again. While the others are good, most are a "seen it, done it" affair, and I haven't really given them much thought afterwards. I did quite like A Beautiful Mind, though.

Of the lot, Slumdog Millionaire feels the most out of place, to me. It was heartwarming, and sobering, but it was also contrived as all heck, and it just didn't really click with me for that one reason.

Really enjoyed Fellowship and the 2 towers, but Return of the King was a disappointment. Loved Gladiator though, definitely one of my favorite movies.

No Country for Old Men. The others on the list are definitely great, but I have to go with the Coen Brothers on this one. Still one of my favorite films of the past few years, even with the onslaught of powerful stuff we got last year.

Going with ROTK just because at the time it came out I was really into Lord of the Rings. I still consider Fellowship to be the best of the three though.

Departed and No Country were both great though. I've seen all of them except Chicago. The only movie on the list I didn't like was A Beautiful Mind.

The only ones on that list I've seen, or have any interest in seeing, were RotK and Gladiator. Gladiator was alright, but RotK was an excellent film and a great end to the trilogy.
