I didn't buy many new CDs this year, and the ones I did buy were pretty disappointing. I guess I'll go with the latest Avenged Sevenfold album since there's a couple songs I dig on it.

Bloc Party - Weekend in the City

Apart from that 2007's been a pretty disappointing year - lots of fave bands turning out completely crap albums (Within Temptation & Jimmy Eat World, I'm looking at you).

    That was out in 2006.

The new Jimmy Eat World was cracking! Much better than Futures.

QUOTED AND LIMED FOR TRUFE! Not to mention Dethklok throwing the awesomest concert I've ever been to in my life. As an old-skool metalhead, that's saying something.

Oh, and non-metal, has to be the Transformers Score CD. Only CD to come out this year aside from the Dethalbum to get much time in the player for me.

I couldn't get into it. :(  That said, Futures had a couple of stand-out songs but kind of fizzled out toward the end...

Mine's the new Foo. I hear the complaints that it sounds like their old stuff, but I heard a great style I've loved for years just perfected.

I'll give an honorable mention to "Icky Thump" also.

I'm not sure if I'm getting old or if I'm too busy to stay up on music like I used to, but I don't hear much new stuff stuff that I really dig. The Killers are the only band I've heard come out since 2000 that I think I'll be into come 2010.

"The Else" by They Might Be Giants is the correct answer.

I would rather pick the lesser of two evils, given as Black Lab's singer puts no enthusiasm or emotion whatsoever into his singing the tweaked version of The Transformers[:The Movie] theme. Whatever it he calls himself doing, he should've been arrested for "battery and assult on the ears." At least Mutemath puts some kind of melody, emotion, and enthusiasm into their version.

That's enthusiasm? Honestly, neither of those performances impressed me on a vocal level at all. Both were the standard, straight-up, modernized, "I really can't be bothered to take a full breath before singing" type vocals that just drive me nuts.

    Best Album of 2k7:

Sick Puppies- Dressed Up As Life

    Other Favorites:

finger eleven- Them vs. Me vs. You
    12stones- Anthem For The Underdog
    Falling Up- Captiva
    Anberlin- Cities
gym class heroes- As Cruel As School Children
    Steve Jablonksi- Transformers The Score
Hans Zimmer- Pirates of the Caribbean At Worlds End
    Martin O'Donnell- Halo 3 Score

Linkin Parks new CD sucked. Nothing I hate more than jumping on the political bandwagon to sell out for air time. I never did like the White Stripes either. Bland and lackluster IMO.
