I got probably over 500 or so disk wise. Lot of TV and box sets. I'll try to take some pictures. I recently got two HUGE shelf units that are about 6.5ft tall by about 3ft wide. Both are about 75% full. I need to rearrange them better by categories and such on Sunday.. or Wednesday. Got the TV section mostly the way I like it. Got a separate couple of slots for all my Rifftrax movies for quick easy finding.

The big bright glare is the TF G1 box sets..

I need to grab a better camera and I'll do this as 4 pictures. Split each of the shelf systems into half. Give a real good idea of just what all I got. Besides one of these days I'll need to type all of them in

No alphabetizing.. Just going to rearrange them by Genre like Animated, horror, anime, comedy, etc. Then i do grouping (Friday the 13th movies together, Pixar films together, Monty Python stuff together, Zuker Brothers films, etc.) But no I don't alphabetize. I'm a little anal with them, but nothing like alphabetizing. I find grouping and categorizing much more effective and less stressful. I find the genre and look in the group and tah dah! there is the movie.

An example of this is up top on the left side. There is most of my animated films. Right next to it is the Star Wars series followed by all the Star Trek films. Then the Tremors series followed by random other films. Next shelf down on the last half of the first and the entire second one are the Comic Book movies. You can see the Batman and Superman box sets. Again they are arranged like Spidey films, X-men films, Fantastic 4 films, etc.
Then the 1st section of the fourth shelf down is Alien series followed by predator series and then AVP. Nest section over is F13th films then NoES series followed by Freddy Vs. Jason then Evil Dead series. Get the idea?

I've been buying dvds like crazy since '02. Last time I counted was way over a year ago and I had more than 800. So I wonder how close I am to a 1000 (or if I've gone beyond that). It's not really as impressive as it sounds, most of it is Anime or some kind of animation. I didn't really get into buying movies on DVD. Only the most important ones, or blind buys. I'm rather glad I did, because here comes Blu-ray with all it's awsomeness! Now I'm buying up all the movies I've ever liked or have genre historical importance.

I'm with you brother! Buying blu-rays like crazy, while dvds are fast becoming yesterdays format. Under two months in and I've massed 42 movies. Not as drool worthy as your 70, but not bad start.
