Well I figured I'd start this thread (I didn't see any like it for a while, so don't kill me if the concept has been beaten to death) since I can only be with a very small portion of my collection at a time due to me being in college, without a car, and a distance from home. So I had to choose who would accompany me in this academic journey until break comes from this semester. So if you are at a home away from home, be it vacation, business, travel, schooling, natural disaster, road trip, temperary housing, or anywhere away from your collection's stronghold, do you take any troopers along for the ride? If so than who?

I only have the space (and courage..for fear of hall mate desecration) to display one or two figures at a time and with limited space to work with I need to choose their sized carefully. I always have MP Prime handy, but I always swap around the rest into a well padded box. This time I have Cybertron Leader Prime, Classics Prime with DIA Armor and TAW Sword, Henkei Sunstreaker and Sideswipe, Animated Grimlock, and Energon Superion with the FP kit. A tight fit, yes, but totally diverse. That doesn't include the MP Skywarp I am hoping to trade for a number of newcomers who aren't in my area at the moment. I hear legends Devs is an awesome pocket transformer to fiddle with, but I' not too keen on him.

I guess pictures are fine as well. Most of my pictures are already in the "Lets see something Cool" thread though. I'll take some of my current display of MP Prime wading through my stacked school supplies like cover sometime later in the week. =P

TL;DR: Who do you take as a travel companion and do you have pictures?

When I'm at work, I sometimes bring a handful of pocket-sized TFs to fiddle with at my desk (all legends-class: TF:A OP & BB, ROTF SKids & Mudflap, Classics Brawn & Beachcomber, G2 Megs, mix & match)... These are also my travel buddies on road trips/vacations.

Current travel companions sitting on the bookshelf in my office: G1 Devastator with CrazyDevy upgrades, ROTF Bludgeon & Mindwipe.

^ I approve. Landfill just may be my favorite Transformer.

I've been keeping ROTF Brakedown on my dashboard lately because its been raining, and the Sun won't kill it too quickly covered with all of those clouds. I don't typically go anywhere where I need to take a TF with me to "keep me company". I know last year I went on a High School Choir/Band trip to cali, took TFA Swindle with me to fiddle with on the ride over.

Well when my wife and I travelled for the past year, I initially brought some classics mini-cons. Later when ROTF came out, I ended up getting legends BB who went with me for the rest of our journey while any other TFs I picked up along the way were sent home (along with the mini-cons that I originally started out with).

Before that, I had classics Astrotrain & Mirage on my desk at work.

The only TF cool enough to go with you everywhere is G1 Megatron. Not only does it look cool but you can hold up banks as well.

Well I always have 3 TF's in my car at all times as I have Robot Hero's Optimus, Ultra Magnus and Megatron all battleing it out.

But If I had to pick 3 figures to save in case of an emergency it would be Universe Nemesis Prime with Shadow commander set, Classics Magnus with City Commander set, and ROTF/Universe Bruticus as I just pre-ordered the FP upgrade sets.

I always carry my black Alternity Convoy with me. He's great, and leads to awesome conversations about how cool I am, ironically.

Dude, you're going away to college... LEAVE THE TOYS AT HOME! They'll be there when you go home to visit and when you graduate and get your own place.

If you must, bring only one.

Write this down: Most women that don't look like men are NOT impressed by a man playing with toys.

Due to the snow, I haven't been home in weeks. Before I left my sylvan home I grabbed G1 Metroplex, Recon Ironhide, ROTF Dirge, and a Custom Arcee made from a Myclone Arcee head and Animated Blurr. In the weeks away from home I've acquired Skystalker, Scattorshot, Brakedown, and Energon Blackout. So, they're my collection on the go.

lately i've been bringing ROTF deadend and brakedown scouts with me... i tend to take a legend or scout with me when i'm out and about... but most of the time they stay in my pocket or my bag and fiddled with when bored... however when i travel to denver to visit my cousin who's a TF geek too, i'll usually see what i've got recently that he doesn't have and take them so i can show him what i've got...

I not trying to be a dick, I'm just curious; care to elaborate on "i tend to take a scout or legend with me when I'm out and about?"

Like, if you go to get your haircut you'll bring a toy with you?

I guess I can see bringing a couple with you if you're going away for a while (college aside--play with things that play back), but now I'm intrigued by some of the "I never leave home without one talk."

Yeah...it'd be one thing if it's one of those keychain figures, but if you can't leave the house without your ROTF Bludgeon...

what i mean is i'll generally grab one if the wife and i are heading out for a drive to her parents or someplace that's at least 30 minutes away... i'll fiddle while she drives... or if i'm heading to a casino, i'll try to figure out who might bring me luck... those almost always just stay in my pocket, but i know they're there... i've also started grabbing one or two to take to friends houses when having parties... cuz they're all TF geeks, so i'll grab one to show off and let everyone play with... last time was ROTF ejector...

stuff like if i'm going out to the movies, i don't take one... or going to get a haircut... don't do that...

    hope that clarifies...

I typically leave them at home. But I did bring all my movie Ledgends to work so if we're having a particularly slow day (or I want to procrastinate) I'll take one or two off my shelf, transform them to vehicle then back to robot, put it back on the shelf and call it good.

I took G1 Jetfire, Soundwave and G2 blue Grimlock with me to college.

In hindsight, it was a terrible idea and they went back home after the first semester because I got tired of other people visiting my room picking them up and playing with them. It was especially irking to come back to the room to discover someone had been screwing with them while I wasn't there. Seriously, people shouldn't mess with stuff that isn't theirs. I don't care if it is "just a toy" -- don't muck with other people's stuff without asking, for crying out loud!

My G1 Jetfire would still be in incredible condition if it hadn't been for jerks messing with it. Several of the tabs holding the attachments in place in robot mode got broken off by freaking jerks screwing with it when I wasn't around.

It made me want to go in their room and crap in the toilet and leave it. Or better yet, crap on their pillow.

Dont have to deal with that as my college is a few miles from my home. But I often take Beast Wars TM 2 Spittor with me when I go on the road. When I was younger I would take it in the places I would be in. Now Spittor just keeps the Silverado company.
