Fatties will be blocked from using certain aspects of live.

The XBL Avatars, the most hideous and God-awful things to ever be related to video games, will be required to bear an exact likeness of the player as far as fitness goes, which takes away what little fun is had out of the abominations. Hilarious.

So basically MS is going to be able to say you can't play this game or this part of the game because they say your too fat? I would absolutely love to see them try and implement that bullshit into the console. I'll boot that shit right out my window and send those idiots the pieces so they can easily shove it up their asses.

People are free to live their lives as they choose and MS really has no right to tell people they can't use something they paid for (and pay a monthly fucking fee for) simply because of their lifestyle.

    lol,wut?

If you have a "fat" avatar what possible feature will you not have access to? Last time I checked Xbox live didn't come with a virtual buffet.

Let me get this straight: If I don't exercise enough (which I don't), I won't be allowed to play my vidjeo gamez? I'm sorry, but the Xbox is not my mother. If I want to sit on my ass and play MW2 all day, that's my perogative.

Though if this is for avatar games only, then I can safely ignore it.

Hold on a moment while I try not to cry laughing.

The way I read it, features and stuff like the Party system will be restricted until you get not-fat.

The problem is, there is absolutely no way to track this for certain. It's bullshit. My fat turns on and off like the tides when the seasons start going, how's it going to stay up-to-date?

You really need to read the article. They patented a tech that would force your avatars to look like you. The fatter you are, the less access to features you will have, even though you're paying for them.

But that would be only if I owned Natal? I mean how would they know? Also, I'm assuming it's optional. It HAS to be optional.

Yeah, so basically it steals your money, insults you and denys you service you're rightfully entitled to.

Sounds like typical Microsoft to me.

Okay, this is made up. There is no way they can get this information with you typical controller and headset. Skin resistance? I didn't know your ears and palms gave so much away. Breathing? Have these people heard what kids sound like over XBL? Like Darth Vader taking a shit.

I'm legit gob-smacked. I hope its just a PR scheme to make it look like Microsoft is doing its part to "fight" obesity.

It's PR or optional, because they have to know that someone NOT playing because of their physicality is simply going to game elsewhere.

I can not read the article here at work because it is blocked, but I can not believe it says that. That will never fly, X-box would not do that to their customers.

I honestly think it's like age restriction for the kiddos. A parent can choose to implement this into their kid's xbox. An adult will have a choice on whether or not to participate. They know that the backlash would be ridiculous.

Or this will be the shortest offensive of all time.

There is no way you can read the source article and not come away with that conclusion.
At the very best this sounds like Wii Vitality Sensor lameness.
    Only more lame...

What I came away from it was, it will lock you out of certain features or areas of a game made for it. In other words, a fitness game that includes things like running and such. If the system knows you are 400 pounds and can barely walk, it's not going to allow you to attempt to run or anything else that would be impossible in a real life setting. It's just taking WiiFit a step further, as not everything is available when you first start it.

    Snip
"a locally executed video game on a game console or other device capable of interactive play rewards players that have achieved a degree of health or athletic skill in real life, even if played in a solitary fashion," "Alternatively or in addition, the degree of health can unlock additional playing time or can unlock certain aspects of a game, such as additional levels."

This is not going to lock anyone out of any services that they paid for. That would be insane as it would cost them money and they certainly don't care enough about how out of shape people are for that.

I just think its all horse shit.

WiiFit style "games" are good for one thing and one thing only, watching your missus make a tit of herself.
