I was almost killed in a car accident with a 72 year old driver that somehow still had his license even though he had gone partially blind, I still have respect for this lady and what she went through.

Well according to the article, she still crashed it... so I'm not reserving my judgment just yet.

That's pretty amazing. Learning to land a plane at 80 in an emergency and pulling it off...I have a great grandma who I believe is in her 90s (I only see her a week each year), she still drives and refuses to give up any independence. Old people can be tough :lol

I don't mean to take away from this at all, because I think it is amazing what this woman did, but from personal experience I can tell you it is actually AMAZINGLY easy to land a small cessna. As in, I was completely amazed how easily I was able to land it within my first few lessons. Now, of course I had an instructor right there with me so it obviously is WAAYYY different. I just found it nuts, because I had always assumed landing something like that would be very difficult, and it was almost like parking a car how smooth it went.
