You can walk into the drugstore and see generic and knockoff Transformers. Everywhere I go there is someone trying to cash in on TF just like when I wa a kid. I always remember getting some of the knockoffs from relatives. They knew what I liked, but didn't know the difference. My mom knew and she would tell them I already had that one because she knew they weren't the right ones.
When I walk into the toystore and post office and nobody takes a second glance at a grown man with so many toys. I love christmas.
You know it's Christmas when...... your wife gives you your $200. transformer money for your birthday
When your relatives ask you what you want, and when you say money, they say, thats not in the spirit of the holiday. Then you say, I want a Fans Project Shadow Scyther set. And they say, ok, here is some money.
Had to lol because of how true this. I have had this happen just replace Shadow Scyther with any figure you want/need.
Yup, I just used Shadow Scyther as an example. You could have said any figure and they would have been scratching their head. Or even worse, they would get you a movie figure. The way I think about it, my kid is going to be very lucky. He is going to ask for some random toy and I will be enough in the know to be able to find exactly what he wants.
I know it's Christmas when on the 25th I will pull from under my tree, and unwrap, Not-Bombshell, Not-Kickback, Exgraver, Heavy Labor, and Structor. I may also be lucky enough to open Encore Devi and Sonicron but that may happen on my Bday which is just around the corner. And with even more luck I may even have Dr. Crank on Christmas and will be able to form Hercules enough to at least know his height lol. It may sound like boasting or showing off but it is really excitement because I have been waiting for ages to get on board with Herc (aka figures in hand) and it will be the biggest toy Christmas ever for me...including childhood. Merry Christmas everyone
I know it's Christmas because I can't walk into a single place without hearing that God-awful music. George Michael - Last Christmas is a great song though. Oh, and K-Mart's here have the movie Ratchet w/ Classics Jetfire head KO. Pretty funny.
This is the very reason I am Uncle number 1 to my nephews (well there is more but it helps) I may just collect Transformers but being into A toy opens you up to being exposed to many toys. My nephews knows that the best, most specific to their tastes, gifts come from me. Heck I just went and bought my one nephew The entire cast of Thundercat heroes + Mumra + the Thundertank. If I got that for Christmas as a kid I know I would have either fainted or cried tears of overwhelming joy.
You know it's Christmas when... You can enjoy the holidays this year knowing you don't have to work retail this season because your place of former employment (Borders) went out of business. Not having a job was never so much fun. You can't find a decent parking space at TRU even though last week everything was normal and you could. Instead of finding hoped for TFP toys, your TRU's TF section is now full of 1. well stocked the Generations toys you couldn't find anywhere six months ago. 2. More really old Revenge of the Fallen Mudflaps to help hide just how badly the section got hit and well the DOTM toys sold out on Black Friday. You're already sick of explaining to the people who work at TRU "No, I when I say I'm looking for TF Prime toys I'm mean the new TV show, not simply any Optimus Prime toy!" And then they just stare at you blankly not knowing there was a difference.
