Not a bad point. But I would have preferred them to make a choice between making them more expensive or making them smaller. Not deciding to make them both more expensive AND smaller (and with less paint).

I got 'em for 15. Soundwave and Wheeljack today. I don't really mind the higher price, truthfully. My Transformers spending has been so little as of late that I can really afford 15 dollar deluxes, even though I shouldn't.

Wow. It went from "when are we going to get them, I can't wait, dirty scalpers on eBay selling them for $100+ can go to hell, Hasbro sucks"...

...to "Finally they're here!! Oh wait, $15? I'll pass".

    It never surprises me.

maybe. also, i know we're used to fluctuating costs based on exchange rates and the costs of materials.

$10 for a decade? how did you think that was sustainable?

After the 6 bones I spent on Hercules, I think this won't hurt a bit.

And the trolls have arrived to build themselves up by tearing others down.

    Yay.

Couple things for ya: since you have come this far to indict me on some type of hypocricy or evil-doing, please:

    1) post a link to where I started any:
    a) "Where are they, I can't wait threads"
    or any
    b)"Dirty scampers" threads.
    c) "Hasbro sucks" threads.

    2) Explain my obligation to pay more that I think something is worth.

It's all about perspective for me. I'm one who dropped down 64 bucks for TFCC Exclusive Ramjet, and I also put down 90 bucks for Scouting Force X, and paid a similar cost for PE "Frenzy" and "Rumble." Considering that I buy toys that are considerably more expensive, 15 bucks really is just a drop in the bucket for me. If I can pony up 90 bucks for 3 Legends figures I feel that 15 is acceptable if I come across a figure I want.

I wouldn't pay that for a deluxe. If one of the seven generations figures to come are good enough. And I mean really good. Arcee, Trailbreaker, Reflector or Hoist good. Maybe Cosmos or some scout minibots. Aside from that Hasbro needs to re-evaluate their price points. Especailly if they are blending prime with alterate materials. Scrap basically.

How about the quality of the RiD toys when they finally appeared. Did that surprise you? Because I think that is the key part of the equation you are skipping over there.

"Finally they're here!! Oh wait, $15? And they look like that?! I'll pass".

They let me use the $3 off coupons on them, was still a tough call on Cliffjumper at $12 (but I doubt I will return him), but Soundwave and Wheeljack were in the yes column for me. Sadly, I am probably going to be taking the plunge on 1st Edition Cliffy ($17) and Bulkhead ($30) if my Canadian Cousin can get them. Bumblebee was a pass even at $12 for now. Figure there will be plenty of time to grab him.

Edit: Even at $12-13, up from $10, it has actually changed my buying habits for the good. I am not as tempted to take a flyer on a figure that I know I don't really want. That being said, I am really having a hard time passing on United Stepper, and already have my Botcon figures on order. It all depends on the figure. Not overly concerning.

I think it balances out. Sure, stuff like toys and whatnot are pretty expensive here, and our economy sure as hell isn't better than the USA's. Maybe things like food and others are cheaper here mostly (I've only been to the states once but I was always amazed at how expensive food in general was).

But yeah, for me at least buying a Transformer isn't just pocket change. Figures easily end up being double than what you guys pay (I paid $100 at retail for Leader SS, and generally try to get other leader figs at discount). I guess I end up buying less figures as a result, only getting things I really like. The variety also is much less since they skip entire waves and lines. It's funny that when a local retailer goes all out on discounts (up to 60%) and I'm only paying regular US price.

Considering its been a minute since there have been transformers available at retail that I want, yes. I will happily buy transformers over Marvel Universe or DCUC stuff anyway, especially if they're at retail and not online.

I don't plan on it, but based on my track record, I'll probably buy all of them for retail price within the first month or so. I have no will power when it comes to trans-crack.

I will. Already got the 3 FE deluxes released in the US, so I won't be buying those again. Soundwave and Wheeljack shall be mine when I see them. If there's no chance of getting a FE Cliff, then I'll grab him too.
