I was watching the movie "The Chronicles of Riddick" without expecting nothing but at the end I liked so much! Is one of my favs now.

Which movie did you see that was a pleasant surprise for you?

"Tranny Grannies" Wasn't expecting much, but got alot of big surprieses, and that twist ending was unbeliveable. I was spent for days.

I was pleasantly surprised by Riddick, the imagery more than made up for the rest of the movies shortcomings.

Another was King Arthur, previews looked retarded but ended up watching it on TV a couple days ago and enjoyed it quite a bit.

Fargo. Some how I managed to hear nothing about this movie before it came out. I didn’t know what was about who was in it or who the directors where and I didn’t want to go. But I was talked into it and it ruled.

I don't really have any movies like that, but I do have plenty of ones I thought would be good for them only to disappoint me. That movie Garden State... a friend of mine hyped it up so bad. He talked about it all the time before it was out. After it was out, he was calling it the best movie ever, blah blah. So when I finally saw it..."What? This is it?" I pretty much hated it. Never let anyone else's opinion influence you.

Chronicles of Riddick was alright. (even though I dislike Vin Diesel)

And I happen to like both The Scorpion King and Stargate.

I'll agree about Riddick. I was expecting run of the mill crappy Vin Diesel action, but it turned out to be great.

    Equilibrium.

A friend recommended it, but I had no idea it was gonna be a good as it was.

Gun Kata works out the statistical probability of where antagonists will be, while maximising your own firepower. Or something like that. Too cool.

Enough to make me almost want to see Ultraviolet... but I suspect I'll stab out my eyes if I do.

Eighthed. (Ninthed?) Riddick is a great movie.

    Also, uh...
I was surprised by "Grandma's Boy." It was...entertaining. I say that with ellipses because I wouldn't immediately recommend it to anyone.

However, if you're bored - and I'm talking you have finished all the random projects you've been putting off, there's nothing to do but get drunk bored - then go rent it. It's worth a laugh or two, but that's about it.

I was expecting super suckage, and was sorta surprised.

OH - Thunderbirds. (The recent American tribute to the British supermarionation series.) I've grown to really love this film. It's so goofy.

Don't know why I didn't say it before but I thought the Riddick movie was ok too. I still can't think of anything I expected to be terrible but turned out good though. Brain...hurts...too much...thinking...

    Spiderman 1, X Men 2, Sin City.

When I walked into the theater I was expecting them to be "good," but when I walked out, I thought them to be "GREAT" movies.

So, like, have all of you not seen Pitch Black or did you just not care for it?

I'll second Equilibrium. Only thing I had to go by was RT and that worried me a bit. Popped it in and it was great fun. Awesome gun work, immensely enjoyable music, a puppy, and Christian Bale. While it obviously had flaws that contradicted its plot, it wasn't a thinking movie nor do I think it was setting out to be that. Apparently, it has this overblown online cult that says the gun cinematics should've been in The Matrix. That or Scudsy's an idiot. I'll go with the latter.

I love Thunderbirds. Goofy and fun, what films should be. Pitch Black was awesome, but when I watched it I was told it was going to be awesome.

I second the Equilibrium. And the film that really blew me away with out previously knowing anything about it is:
    KELLY'S HEROES!!
with Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas, Don Rickles and Donald Sutherland. The movie is more than great, its awesome. Three Kings with George Clooney is like a remake, but compared to KH its complete trash.
