Do you deal with it? Or do you return and exchange it?
I just picked up a DOTM Megatron and there are stress marks on the hood and the bumper joints.

depends how bad/where they are, if it is a common problem, suck it up and heat gun it carefully, if not, return and get a new one. there's enough dotm stuff out there to replace it with

Well, I bought a Generations TC as an extra. Opened it and it had a stress mark on the right elbow joint and foot joint. No biggie. It still transformed without problems. I didn't return it though.....considering......its not every day you see a TC on the shelves

    i rolled a D20 and got a Critical.
so i went online and paid eBay prices for a replacement.

i read about the stress marks that were being found on Generations Thrust's feet/legs and when i opened mine and saw it, i did nothing more than transform him once and left him alone.
he was hard enough to find to begin with, so i have to live with it.

I have more of an issue with always getting a figure with some kind of loose joint problem.

Which annoys me to no end.

If it's fixable easily, I don't bother returning it (most of my collection came through the mail so it's pretty bothering to have to send it back and play the waiting game once more).

Last time I got this problem was with Takara Voyager DOTM Prime & trailer, there was a big one on the blue part on the side of one knee, I can't even see how that happened but anyway, hair dryer saved the day. :)
