Yes but only after locking myself in the studio and designing a Supreme class Animated Omega Supreme toy and getting those released before all the destruction, go out in a blaze of glory!

 

Release an entire line full of TFs/Joe Crossovers - I'm talking Human-Alliance style based on 25th Anniv Joes. That would be AWESOME!  

 

In that situation i'd be asking the chief product manager what they're looking for. It would be the Chief toy designer to respond to the stratagy and planning if higher up...although they would have a little bit of creative freedom in coming up with ideas once they'd been given direction.

 

Bring out a Takara quality line of figures aimed at collectors - I'm talking a henkei/alternity quality but with realistic military vehicles and with the cool extra features the fan companies have been adding in, and then sell them primarily online so people aren't screwed around at retail. (Also preferably G1 homagey)

the only way to solve this kind of situation is to go forward like beast wars did.

Make a TF related show with NONE of the old characters, with leaders NOT named prime and megatron and with a story that does not involve chasing after the allspark! Hell don't make it even close to earth, it's getting boring!

Make a show with brand new caracters that is in sync with the main TF world, but from a far distance.

 

All the big TFs will be Bases or vehicle carriers. Deluxes and voyagers will transform from vehicle to robot with potential armor components that detach and refit onto other deluxes and voyagers. These parts can consists of combinable rifles, missle pods, swords, battle claws, shock braces, jet packs, and more.

Its War that meets Eye. Their Robots In Disguise.

The fact is play value will sell the toys. And a good action packed cartoon like clone wars or gijoe resolute will encourage our product as a higher echelon entertainment purchase than a PSP.

 

What state is the economy in? How is the stock in Hasbro doing? Where are we compared to our competitors? What are the other toy companies putting out? What state is the fanbase in? I'd need more information before I really posted with ideas.

I would get rid of the minor lines and stop waisting money on exclusives and repaints then allow the Universe line to be the fall back point selling only Deluxes and Scouts with many GEEWUNERS happy the line will slowly come back when that happens create a new cartoon on a whole new style of transformers to gain more fans and no more leaders the highest I'd go would be voyagers with much detail.

 

Completely reinvent the story and look to what was the most well-received gimmicks by KIDS and hopefully come up with a cool toyline.

But what would probably happen is that I'd probably sink the ship even faster since I'm too much of a fanboy at heart to make a successful marketwide product. Things like scale would be paramount. But hey maybe that would be successful since it's never been done before right?    

 

Animated is back, screw the budget...I'm happy now

Hmmmm. Well I would just do the most epic thing ever. I would hire Vangelus and use his name and rights to produce his own transformer series. Even get Bandai involved and mix in a Sentai, Masked Rider cross over. Call it Transformers: Go. Have every toy be Vangelus...but a diffrent variant including Omega Spreem and Spoons the 2nd. It will be awsome.

 

Finally, the magic questions.

So the board meeting on monday revealed:
-transformers are losing market share to other toy franchises,
Star Wars, Gundam, Power Rangers (Sentai), heck, even Macross (robotech).
-aggravated by the dwindling number of kids playing with toys (the core consumers)
-The 3rd TF live action movie was a failure because somebody got greedy,
tried too hard to cram too many characters in it to sell toys.
-years of inbreeding has caused TF designs to stagnate,
ie. the same guys have designed the last dozen starscreams and optimus primes.
-the consumers are tired of meaningless repaints of toys not substantiated by the fiction (other than the lousy bio behind the packaging)
-the economy has recovered and Obama got re-elected.
-The CEO (under the counsel of the Strategy department) has decided to give the franchise one last shot before killing it for good and channeling R&D to the other franchises owned by Hasbro.
-Takara has their hands tied because Tomy intends to leave direction in the hands of Hasbro. Takara cannot promise anything other than making anime accurate or masterpiece versions of the characters.
-fanproject type of groups are still doing well (relatively speaking) and radicons still cater to the highest end of the market (consumers seeking luxury-grade repaints)
