Alright folks. I got my Peter Cullen voice changer from TRU in Hayward, CA earlier today. It was on sale for $29.99 PLUS it came with a free $5 gift card (good towards my next purchase). Pretty sweet deal eh? Pics coming later.
Got mine today but the experience sours the whole thing for me. I went to TRU to get it for 29.99 on sale and get the $5 card. Well I also had the online survey coupon. So I go to checkout and the girl rings up the card and helmet. I hand her the coupon and she says it's to late but they can easily fix it at customer service. I go there and after 15 minutes, she says she can't get it to work one way and will have to refund it all and re-ring it which will take another 10 minutes. WTF? I just demanded my card back and left. I don't care about the coupon anymore and I don't care about the gift card. The helmet on sale is the same price as Target at regular price. And that's exactly where I will be shopping from this point on.
I bought the non Cullen helmet from WM today. My brother will be getting the Cullen version. I wish I can digibash the helmet to Scourge/Nemesis Prime colors so I can wear my Decepticon T with it.
I got the variant Helmet with Cullen's voice. I was not getting this but since its the variant...what the heck! The helmet is cool with good details however the thing is really hot when you wear it plus the straps does not lock quite well and can sometimes feel uncomfortable but hey this is the first Optimus Helmet so why not? I wonder if someone already kitbash it to look more like G1 Prime. My little daughter kinda dig it so its a good buy I guess.
On occasion, when you purchase something, they give you a seperate recipt to do an online survey about the store. Once ocmpleted, you get a coupon for your next purchase when you bring the recipt and survey code. The surveys are used to see quality of your experience but mostly people fill them out with BS just for the coupon. My company does this and we get the results back and usually scratch our heads because the only thing we constantly get bad marks on is music when actually most of the music is the same crap you hear on every general listening station around the country.
I'm loving that Prime torso shirt, but the G1 design just doesn't go with the movie helmet. So, when I bought my Cullen helmet, I also picked up a full-size, three-dimensional, wearable Prime torso*: *That statement may or may not be full of sh--.
Thanks. You guys weren't kidding. That thing is hot as heck to wear. I had to take it off after making my best friend laugh with only a few funny distorted sentences, then wipe the inside down. For the picture, I crammed some sunglasses up inside it, so the flash wouldn't show my eyes. That was comfortable...
