    Hi guys, I’m new to TFW2005.COM. After a ten year break from collecting Transformers, I'm back collecting and I'm amazed by the community you have here.

    Anyway, I just posted a YouTube video showing how I removed the gold parts on Prime, so I thought I'd share it here as well:


    I did a very light sand with fine sandpaper and then sprayed a layer of Krylon matte sealer. At that point I was just hoping that taking the shine off the gold would be enough to make it look better but it didn't.

    Then I sprayed it with Krylon black primer and finally [with] two coats of Krylon Metallic paint. The can is shown in the video. I [apply] all [with] very thin coats until the last metallic coat, which I sprayed on a bit thicker. I'm not a paint expert by any means, but it seemed to cover okay for me. I doubt it would hold up to much play, but it'll just sit in my glass cabinet with only occasional transforming anyway.
