Like others, I really liked the Leader Megatron figure but his paint job left a lot to desire, so I decided to take a stab myself at repainting my Megatron figure into something more gritty and not dull.

    Before-[IMG]

I went about painting him by first starting off with a base coat of black acrylic and then went over that with a silver gloss. This worked out two ways for me, for one, the silver took better than if I had just tried painting the normal plastic, and two, it gave Megatron an cool dark metallic color. I then proceeded to add a bit of red and gold to break up the silver and show off some of the cool details of the mold like the little rivits and wires and stuff. Still slowly adding a few touch ups here and there(I'm a perfectionist at times). But after doing this repaint, I think this figure is now tons better than the original.

Here some pics, I took some with and without flash, and I personally like the flash-less pictures.

With all these repaints, I wonder if Dc will release a megatron 2.0 version, or if that was their plan all along.

Sure thing, here's the thread on the custom I did. I added some yellow to break up the black.

Not really. The silver I used is somewhat clear, so when I painted it on the coat of black I started with, it came out this dark metal sort of color. When I was painting it, I was actually a little surprised how dark it came out, but I liked how it looked.

I was just wondering because it looks kind of weathered. The way it turned out it looks great!
