In TF1 Sam ask Optimus how he learned our language Optimus replied "the world wide web". If this is the case how did the fallen already know how to speak english on the crashed ship on mars or wherever he was??

It was probably translated for the audience. Don't take things too literally.

1 part narrative convenience, 1 part "well Starscream could've clued him in" to two parts would you rather he growl or use that dial-tone speak for all his lines?

Since the only time The Fallen ever needed to speak English (or any other language in foreign countries) was when the giant broadcast was made, Soundwave probably translated the whole thing since he was the one broadcasting it.

Lol I was thinking the same thing about the whole world wide web thing last night. But at the same time I know not to take things to literal.

They've done this in literally hundreds of movies... most people don't enjoy reading subtitles (especially little kids). So characters will speak the language of the audience so that the audience can follow along.

It's like in "Deadwood" the tv show, they were using pretty modern curse words even though back then they used different curse words. The modern ones were used so the audience would understand that the characters used expletives a lot.

Yes, the Transformers are shown speaking in their native tongue with subtitles. This was done to establish that they do have their own language and use it to communicate amongst their race.

The only way to get Earth internet for an advanced organic robot is to surf on a human family computer??? Soundwave probably downloaded it for the 'cons as a side task while hacking into the world firewalls simultaneously, because he can.

Yeah, and I'm certain those were modern day english speaking people he was tramping on in the beginning of ROTF.

    //sarcasm

As already said, his dialogue was "translated" for the viewers if you will. Why would he bother learning and using a language used by a portion of a species he despises? On a planet he plans on destroying? Really, considering Megatron's absolute disgust for humans, I'm sure he's not "really" talking in english either (same for Starscream, Soundwave etc) except when he's talking to Sam in both films. I doubt Brawl, Bonecrusher, Frenzy and Blackout are the only Decepticons loyal enough to speak cybertronian to each other when on earth. So why would Megs, Screamer and The Fallen be speaking in english to each other in another galaxy?? They're not... it's only for the viewers benefit.

A better question: Why do Megs and Starscream speak to each other in English?

Again, so people don't have to read subtitles.

The writers strike, bay said really hampered the story, maybe they didn't have enough time to do cybertronian lingo on the screen
    Not complaining
    besides
clearly speaking dialogue also gives a bit of emotion to characters

It’s not a mistake, its just you thinking about things that don’t need to be thought about. Just like 98% of ROTF’s other “mistakes”.

He probably stayed and watched the humans build the pyramid, therefore he knew where the harvester was. This was around the time that EARLY english had started...

...or all bots have translators in their systems.
And the theory that " their speech was translated for the audience". I sat through a whole movie that was full of non english speakers, and it was made in america.Almost the whole movie was spent reading subtitles. If bay wanted them to speak in cybertronian with subtitles,HE'D DO THAT. But, no.
