They look great!
And now with my ego sufficiently inflated, I can present those hoity-toity "deluxe" Insecticons:
If I saw these in a store, I would buy them!
Those deluxe insecticons are perfect. You really need to find a way to show these things off at a convention somewhere.
x01618 and Tresob, these are great. And I really appreciate you making your labels available for others to use x01618! These have inspired me to way overboard and plan out over 50 customs! Oh boy.
I've found a whole slew of KO Kreons, and am collecting body parts and other pieces right now. The KO body parts colors are limited, so there's definitely gonna be some painting involved. Anything not a Kreo-specific piece I'll hunt for at the Lego shop where they have 2nd-hand bins of parts sold by weight.
Now it's time to learn how to print and apply decals. Yikes.
Doing a test run before I go to the printer shop and spend money on laser printed water-transfers.
A question for you, if you don't mind: What's the actual print size of the decals?
Edit: print size test successful!
The decals are at 600 dpi. You'll probably want to use an image-editing program to stick a bunch onto a page. I'm able to fit up to 66 sets on a standard 8.5"x11" page. The only trick is to make sure when you print them out to make sure there isn't any "fit to page" going on or that may skew the scaling.
While I'm here, here's a few more figures I've finished -- some Decepticon Targetmasters:
^Niiiice targetmasters! Thanks for answering my question. I hadn't realized that your files were actual Kreon body size! So no resizing required.
Now, off to Photoshop to put them all on an 8.5 x 11 and try the print shop!
When it rains it pours! Great work! You are making me wish I had more time to make helmets!
Hmmm... In that case, enjoy these minibots that I just finished!
Out of curiosity, do these KO Kreons you found have any parts whose plastic colors are not available in the legit Kreons? I've always hoped that KOs could add to the colors available, but I wasn't sure if that ever happened. I've managed to amass a large graveyard of parts over the years, but I'd love to get some unique colored parts for customs if they exist.
Looks like a good fit! I look forward to seeing how the colored versions turn out.
D'aww, Swerve, Tailgate and Outback look awesome.
And now for everyone's favorite robot head-shrinker: Ring... I mean: Rong... That's not it... "Eyebrows"?... oh wait, it's Rung!
Rung looks great! Decals & helmet are both awesome as usual. What kind of accessories should a dude like Rung have?
Most Kreon KOs are the same colors as the real dealios.
These ones come with a bunch of lame gold accessory pcs (except a gold saw-hand for Lockdown which is awesome). The body colors are way more limited than real Kreons, limited to only a few colors, but unlike others at least the heads are real Kre-O type:
Thanks for the pic! Hopefully they'll eventually get around to making the KOs in some more exotic colors.
I will note that I always felt like I never had enough of those purple-blue parts. That color just seems to come up a lot in various Transformers' palettes, and it wasn't super common among the stock figures. I'd be interested in hearing what colors you find to be the most useful in your customs.
As for Rung, he probably deserves a miniature Ark accessory. I'm not sure if there's already a good Lego substitute for something like that. Maybe if I ever get decent at 3D modeling, I'll give that it a try myself.
Here's a G1-esque take on Movie Barricade a la Guido Guidi:
I love them all! When are these going up on your Tumblr? I didn't see them yet, and I keep trying to link people to them.
I'm not a tumblr user myself, so I wasn't sure if anyone was really making use of my posts. Since you are, I've just updated it with my latest pics, and I'll try to keep it in sync going forward.
