Just another Dirge. I took the top tailfins for the front. The small downward wings I moved where they went straite up and made the front half the wing fold back in up instead of flipping around in robot mode. I also modded the weapons to look more G1-ish. And yes i notice I had to do a few touchups after the pics was taken. Some pics include other seekers for looks.
Super sweet job man! I've always liked this mod but never took the time to do it myself. I guess it's cuz the coneheads were never high on my list. I would kind of like to see the small wings fold down in bot mode
I tried th fold them down in bot mode but it was to clumsy when I tried to pose him so i modded it so the wing would fold up to allow posablity. Thxs for the kind words. The wings where done with a mix of 3 sparyspaints. Gold, brown, and yellow.
Very nice work. Hopefully I'll be able to make a start on my own Dirge soon, since I've got another Ramjet on the way. Still haven't quite got those head casts down yet, though... What did you do to the missiles; are they scratchbuilt bodies on the stock shaft..?
Yea, you know those cheap disposable bic pencils?? they are from inside those. Yea I know i use alot of junk in my customs.
I like this! I'm kind of indifferent to those 2 little forward fins in Dirge's design normally, but in this case I really like the way they sit behind his shoulders in robot mode. It gives him a little more personality to distinguish his silhouette from the other Seekers. Nice. zmog
This. I also really like the difference that this modification gives your piece. I also have to say that the blue on him looks REALLY nice especially. The missiles are icing on the Seeker cake. Mmmm . . . it tastes good Great work, buddy!
would you mind casting a non-cone-head fuselage? the whole nosecone part, cockpit and all? I'd love to do that and use some ramjets just for their white parts, yet I can't have them be a conehead. I believe I was the first to do that, with my Microburst. For Dirge, I like it down better, but overall, I admit I like the look up high more as it makes him look more large and imposing.
Totally with you there - I have no love for coneheads myself, as you well know. The plan at the moment, if I can make it work, is to cast the nose and cockpit sections without the canopy, since the resin I'm using (at least at the mo) is translucent but not clear - and the coneheads still come with the same canopy pieces anyway, so they can just be added. If I can make it work, I'll see what I can sort out for you. *crosses fingers*
well that'd be fine. I don't like cone heads, but in the particular instance, that isn't even it, I truly can't have those heads or my whole project would have to be re-worked.
