After seeing the new Evac movie toy on Ebay today, I thought that the new tweaks would make it a great figure for a Botcon exclusive set. Taking that one step further I thought that it'd be cool if a future BC exclusive set was a reimagined Wreckers set. So as a little wishful thinking exercise, I thought I'd set up a thread to see what figures you guys would like to see as which Wreckers character.

Using the normal rules for Botcon exclusives I've laid out a list of the chracters who make up the Wreckers (that were toys originally) and which toys I'd like to see them use. Agree or disagree, what would you like to see. (I omitted Springer since he was done this year already)

    Sandstorm - Cybertron Hardtop
    Broadside - Cybertron Shortround
Roadbuster - Energon Strongarm (OTFCC's design works for me)
    Whirl - Movie Evac
    Topspin - Energon Slugslinger
Twin Twist - Cybertron Menasor w/Landfill (decoed like the G1 Targetmaster)

Twin Twist would be packaged separately like this year's Alpha Trion. They could also use either Hardtop or Shortround molds for the freebie figure as Beachcomber and Seaspray.

I like it, but I'd rather not have Strongarm again; the mould was already used in the 2005 set.

Fair enough, just nix Blackout and include Energon Bulkhead instead with a new head.

I think he ment my selection for Roadbuster. Tho your Suggestion for Whirl does have merit.

So, Draven which toy would you suggest using for Roadbuster instead?

Y'know, this is a real good idea--I'd definitely be on board for something like this. The attendant-only exclusives should be Cybertron Defense Scattorshot as Impactor and Cybertron Starscream (voyager) as Macabre--both with remolded heads.

Swap Hardtop for Roadbuster and use Energon Beachcomber for Sandstorm. After this year's set they have to raise the bar, so why not go for 2 larger figures, 2 Basics, and 1 Deluxe.

IMO Energon/Armada Tidal Wave would be a perfect fit for Broadside.

man, I thought of this over the summer, check it:

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=140841

I'm really, REALLY trying not to do any more repaints, but this evac is making me come real close to jumping in and making the wreckers, who are definitely my favorite team, if only for the fact that they've got roadbuster and whirl.

actually, just to make my updated list, I like some of your ideas, HP:

    springer--botcon springer
    broadside--armada tidal wave
    whirl--cyb. evac
    roadbuster--cyb. cd hot shot
    sandstorm--movie evac
    topspin--energon slugslinger
twin twist--cyb. menasor (only problem being the size difference between him and topspin)

and then technically, in the marvel series, was ultra magnus part of them, or a liaison or adviser or something?

Actually Ultra Magnus was vital for a mission in one of the story arcs, he was the to take part in an ambush by the wreckers against Lord Straxus but he was pulled away to earth to find out what had happened to Prime when the matrix flame was extinguished. It's a great story collected in one of the Titan collected UK T transformers books. Anyway I like this line of thinking, especially the Tidal wave to Broadside idea.

There were a few awesome customs on a Japanese board that were linked here a few weeks ago. They recreated the G1 triple changers using Armada/Energon/Cybertron molds. They looked great and the ones I can remember were:

    Cybertron Jetfire = Octane
    Armada Tidal Wave = Broadside

The others looked great as well, but I don't remember what they were.

I remember seeing that octane a while back. it was super awesome, but I'm really, really trying not to just keep buying toys to repaint, just because there's nothing main-line that I want. it'd be nice not to have as much money go into toys as it used to.
