Yes, I have Transformers UK Vol 6 pre-ordered through DCBS, and they haven't canceled my order yet. So maybe that is a good sign? Hopefully anyway. And yes, still waiting on that G.I.Joe Hardcover to come out. I loved the first 8 volumes.

I wish there was more news. I thought it was a gread idea to read up on the Marvel UK material and I was hoping to get everything from G1 to G2 from this, because I don't only want to read on TFWiki about these stories. I did not expect to come to an dead end although I only started "recently" (so to say) to read these.

This franchise is cursed. The good stuff never lasts but the crap goes on forever.

Actually life is the same way.

Jesus! Are they too busy mucking up their own "universe" to put out these reprints?!

Back up for pre-order (alongside the much-delayed GI Joe volume 9), due 6th June, apparently.

I'm done getting my hopes up but it would be really nice if IDW could finish this collection up. (Although I think there is supposed to be one or two additional volunes after this, right?)

Yeah, the original plan was to publish 8 volumes (just as the US Classics), which would`ve featured the b&w issues... Although, I`m not quite sure, if these volumes were supposed to be black&white, or colored.

I think it’s something to do with the transformers uk partworks. It seems the date for volume 6 slipped when this was announced and this is supposed to have coloured uk issues

I would really like to continue to read the UK Classics. Right now I don't even remember anymore what happened last in Volume 5 :(
Will they also re-print the G2 stuff? I want to read that as well.

I would prefer original publication versions, especially if they were black and white to start with. I do not have much confidence that a colourization so long after the original release will have the same feel/quality as if it had been done during the same time period.

Have you ever read the G2 stuff? I'm pretty sure you can still get them on ebay in those small hardcover editions.

No, I haven't. And I want them digitally. I don't have room for so many books.

I was quite surprised Hachette aren't including G2 in their collection (as far as I'm concerned it's more relevant than most of the IDW reboot stuff they're reprinting). So it would be nice for G2 to get some appreciation somewhere. Also a bit of behind the scenes info, maybe see those Fleetway UK pages too.
Most of the newly coloured stuff in the Hachette books is tastefully done and doesn't stand out. But on some level I do feel that those stories are almost defined by their black & white status, and keeping them as originally published is certainly no bad thing.

I wouldn't be surprised if they want to get some reuse out of their new colour versions though, after paying to have them done...

Definitely agree with this. Some of the stories (especially Big Shutdown and the Demons trilogy) make a virtue of being in b&w - Shutdown is moody and noir-ish, whereas Demons is all shadow, gloom and dread. The colourised version of Shutdown isn't half as atmospheric as the original monochrome.

I would just prefer them to be released in the US.

I am reading up to Vol 5 again at the moment. Would be fantastic if Vol 6 was actually released but I'm not getting my hopes up...
