Sounds cool, hope you have a good time. And it's not too hard to spend time with nerds if you're already sort of a nerd (like me)!

Careful, that'll get you booted from threads around here.

Or is that just me that's happening to? :(

Sounds like it's part of the Upward Bound program. I was in one for two years as a student and spent four years as an RA in one program. I had heard other programs had better stipends, but it really is a good experience, not just a camp for nerds and geeks.

I'll be the first to suggest saving your money. It might be nice to splurge for like one Optimus Prime or one or two classics, but it seems like a bad idea to spend all that money on toys, especially at your age. Besides, if you save your cash, you could afford a larger or more interesting toy/product/whatever later on down the road!

    Just an idea.

QFT! Though I'd splurge on an MP-01 + MP-05, alas, I am weak.

Aight, that's fair. It's your cash. However, I just want to give you something to think about:

I'm going to round prices here. Let's assume you have approx. 5 classics to collect.

    5 classics: 5 x $10 = $50, plus ~$5 or less tax.
    1 genuine G1 Optimus: $80-$100
    1 MP-05: $80-$100
...and let's assume you decide to save and pick up a movie version Hasbro MP Prime: $30-$60 (depending on where you buy it.)

On the low side, that's $240. On the high side, that's $310.

    $1700 - $250 = $1450...OR...$1700 - $310 = $1290.

While both of those are still large sums, I just figured I'd put it in print for ya to consider. Again, though - it's your cash. If you really feel like grabbing a G1 Prime, go for it!

Let me get this straight... you've FOUND this 'job' but not applied for it, right? Has this 'position' been offered to you and they are just waiting on an application as a formality or is it that you would LIKE this 'position', still have to apply for it and acceptance is all dependent on this application / interview / whatever.

For what it's worth, it sounds a lot like a summer program I used to be a part of. You attend a 6-8 week summer program, hosted at a local college, and attend classes throughout the week. Usually, there are trips or events on the weekend. You get "paid" a weekly or bi-weekly stipend.

Given his age and description, I'd suspect he's found a similar program.
