Jet mode looks ace, but the rest looks shit to me... sorry. If I can afford it in the future a 1/60 Macross Plus YF-19 is calling me...
http://www.yamato-toys.com/dev/cont_009/index.html Some interesting bits to note in there, specifically the metal "skeleton" inside the thin wings that should hopefully ease some fears of the wings (hinging and splitting as they do) snapping or giving under their own weight. It looks like the metal frames in the wings will slide away from the joint using a little tab, releasing the hinges, sort of like one of those carnival "dunk the chump" games where you hit a target with a ball and the platform drops away.
Quick updates folks. Looks like Yamato is going to release Nora's SV-51 in August. We'll have all four hero character VF's from Macross Zero within a few months. Now. All they need is the VF-0D and I'll be one happy pappy. A broke one at that.
Well, if I'm getting one, I'm getting Nora's. So much more of an interesting color scheme... But, would you really call her a 'hero'?
A little update on the SV-51: Latest Magazine scans of this rediculous transforming beast can be found here - http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?s=&showtopic=21339&view=findpost&p=495543 Some highlites - It can stand on its own two legs without support. There was a great deal of speculation and even suggestion from Yamato that this might not be the case due to the design. It's got the crane-neck thing going on. Good for those who like that sort of thing. It looks pretty freaking amazing, especially with those big fuel and missile pods on its thin, bendy wings. Technologically it looks insanely impressive. Whether or not Yamato can keep it free of QC or design issues is another story that I guess we'll have to wait and see on. Launch mode wing configuration. Schwoo.
Well, there was a hint given a few months ago that speculated that the next one would be a VF-11, but nothing official I do not think yet.
