Not a fan of the anime, but I LOVE these toys. Just really get one of each mold, though, since ten VF-whatevers just look the same to me (head laser numbers aside :D  ).

So far I have SV-51 Ivanov, YF-19, YF-21, and the VF-1J Super Stealth. For the latter I also bought the super-upgrade kit thing with the boosters and the missiles and all. I also bought one set of the Urban Camo Armor parts, and may buy another VF-* for those to go on.

My questions is this--what other significantly different models are made by Yamato? Either totally different jets (I know there are many more in the Macross universe) OR models that come with different cool upgrade kits so that the end product looks much different.

    Any help is appreciated!

Yamato's doing the VF-11 later this year, so it might be a plan to start putting monies away for that.

Theres the VF-0, althougth that might be too similar to the VF-1 if you specifically looking for stuff that looks different. Adding a set of Ghost booster parts might change you mind thougth.

If you looking for extra swag to make you existing stuff look different, then you could try and find a GBP armour set for your VF-1.

That'll be it from Yamato unless they decide to do the VF-4, you'll have to go knocking at Bandai's door if you want anything from Frontier or 7.

I have the GBP for my YF-19, but I might split the difference and get a VF-0 w/ said GBP. I know some of the VF-0s are supposed to be shitty, is there one that's better than the others?

And I'm pumped about the VF-11 now. That looks AWESOME.

The second release Focker 0S thats bundled with the Ghost parts is apparently the one to have.

The urban camo parts you have are VF-1 GBP armour, I didn't catch on earlier because its non-show.

I presume the VF-19 parts you have are the Super and Fold boosters since it doesn't have armour. They haven't made the 0's armour, but theres the afformentioned Ghost booster.

Bandai's 1/60 VF-25 might be up your alley, have a look at the pics that folks are posting in the big Macross thread. It has sniper (Micheal) and electronic warfare (Luca) varients for variety as well. Im sure they'll do the 27 and 171 as well once they've flogged that to death.

Oh yeah, that's it. I thought GBP was Ghost Booster Pack. But cool on that VF-0S package, 'cause that's what I would wanna get. And I'm thinking about an Angel one with GBP armor, but I've been pondering that since it came out.

I do need to check out those VF-25s, though--they look righteous. Thanks much for the breakdown, guy!

Word around the Macross World water cooler is that the VF-11 is to be released around the 20th of this month. So next week should be pretty interesting. :)

You pretty much have the same collection I have, minus the Konig Monster (not sure of the spelling) and the VF-25. Check 'em out.

It may be too similar, but the new 1/60 figs from Yamato are damn good. I like mine better than the 1/48 (though the 1/48s are still badass). If you want a more different look you could try the Elintseeker or the Super Ostrich, both coming out later this year. I know the Super Ostrich at least has a unique head, and different fast pack parts.

Super Ostrich, I'm getting. I liked the design but hated the flimsy version with detachable legs. That new version should be perfect.

The only other Yamato Macross product thats really different is the VB-6 which I'm told is in a league of its own. The VF-0 as others have talked about is an entirely unique toy at least despite its resemblance to the VF-1's. I really liked the VF-0A + Ghost Booster set.

I don't own any current toys from this series, I bought the 1/72 VF-11, YF-22, and had two of the original 1/60 VF-1's... eventually when I heard that the larger scales were coming out I sold off all of those and picked up a 1/48 VF-1S with all the upgrade packs but stopped there. As much as I adore the new stuff I can't justify the prices.
