From Graham (dude that works with Yamato) of MacrossWorld:
Let's just say that I'm pretty damn stoked. Thankfully, I didn't buy very many 1/48s because these look even better.

I have a feeling we'll be seeing more 1/48's show up on E-Bay. for Sale section, etc.

I don't see what the big deal about this is. What makes this better than my 1:48 Roy Fokker?

Yamato seems to be reinforcing their commitment to the 1/60 lineup.

We've seen it in their latest Macross Plus and Zero lineups. In order to keep things in scale they're reintroducing the 1/60 VF-1's with the improvements made with the 1/48's.

A big letdown with the early 1/60's is that you had to disconnect the legs in order to transform to Battroid Mode. With the new 1/60's it's perfect transformation (implementing the swingbar from the 1/48's, shorter nosecose from the 1/60 VF-0's, and better overall "proportions").

As stated before the 1/48 lineup is done for. Yamato is sticking with 1/60 scale from now on.

that sucks, that means it'll end up costing me that much more to make my own MP Jetfire. :(

Sooo bought. I've always wanted a VF-1S, and it looks like these will actually be affordable. Plus, it'll be on scale with MP Screamer. :D

BTW: A friend of mine, who frequents Macross World, said that according to Graham (the site admin and Yamato employee (I think)), it won't have the wingflaps or removeable cone. No idea if that's true, but Graham seems reliable because of past information he gave out.

Then I guess I'm super-stoked that I just got a 1/48 Hikaru VF-1S with Super & Strike parts for X-mas (of course to repaint into MP Jetfire).

These 1/60's look awesome though, and I think now that I own one, I may end up owning some of these new ones. Geez, there goes more moolah!

I'm okay with this. Not a Macross fan, but I love this line just as transforming robot toys, and 1/60th is easier to deal with (and hopefully, slightly cheaper) than 1/48th.

I still prefer the 1:48 scaled VF-1s. But I wouldn't mind one of these for sure, provided the price is right and the quality is what I expect.

Knowing Yamato as of late, the price will be $199. :lol

In all seriousness though, I have always wanted on of these to go with the rest of my 1/60s, so I will get one for sure.

Probably not gonna happen considering all of the other 1/60 run 40-80 bucks more than the 1/48.

Well, the one fact against that is that a 1/60 VF-1 is MUCH smaller than any other VF in 1/60 scale. We'll see.
