Good for the movie, I guess.

    But otherwise, eh, who cares?

This list is pretty far off the mark...I mean I LOVED the Iron Man movie, but it is NOT the best sci-fi movie of all time...

I mean REALLY (Their list, not mine):

    30: Serenity
    29: X-Men 3
    28: I am Legend
    27: Donny Darko
    26: X-Men 2
    25: Deja Vu
24: Eternal Sunshine of the Spottless Mind
    23: Ghostbusters
    22: V For Vendetta
    21: The Terminator
    20: X-Men
    19: Predator
    18: Superman
17: Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith
    16: Alien
    15: Spider-Man
    14: Jurassic Park
    13: Termintaor 2
    12: The Incredibles
    11: Close Encounters
10: The Day The Earth Stood Still
    9: E.T.
    8: The Matrix
    7: Back To The Future
    6: Aliens
    5: Return of the Jedi
    4: The Empire Strikes Back
    3: Transformers
    2: Star Wars
    1: Iron Man

OK, there are a lot of movies that definately belong....but there's a lot of movies that certainly could be replaced by MUCH better Sci-Fi....BLADE RUNNER, 2001, Wrath of Kahn, it looks like this survey was taken at a comic book convention...or maybe outside of the Marvel Comics offices...

Fuck that... The Empire Strikes Back is the greatest Sci-Fi film of all time, closely followed by The Day the Earth Stood Still.

Transformers wouldn't even make my top 10.

Thing is it's not some random list some guy thought up. It's based on the User Reviews ratings. That's why most of the movies are recent ones and why Iron Man can take number one. It's not based on actual mermits of the movie per say but what people thought of the movies.

When I saw they included Superhero films, I was surprise to not see The Dark Knight.

I'd much rather see a list like this complied from film historians, renowned film critics, and sci-fi historians.

Ask 100 people right now what their favorite Superhero film is and most of them will probably say The Dark Knight. The current popularity of certain films will not result in a definitive answer for the best film in the Superhero genre, which is why that list fails completely.

Going on what Yahoo! users currently think will just give you what's been popular in the past 10 years, and anything older there is just what people have had crammed down their necks as what is considered "groundbreaking" and "all time classic", which is unfortunate since a lot of those older film are just that, very revolutionary films that helped change the way we make movies.

Transformers 2007, for what it could have been, could be number 1.

Transformers 2007, for what we got, shouldn't even be in the list.

Eh, I dunno, all of my top movies are on there, though in different places than I'd have put them (my top 5):

    1. Transformers
    2. X2
    3. The Incredibles
    4. Ironman
    5. X-Men/X3 (tie)

Good, I'm glad it's on there. If it annoys fanboys it's all the better.

Might as well put the names of movies up on a dart board and train a monkey to throw darts and you'd get about the same results as what you'd get from Yahoo reviewers. Since anyone can post there without any background cred it's not like you can't get some of the staff for your film to post glowing reviews like they did with that turkey Dragon Wars. Honestly does anyone think that film deserved the user A ratings it got.

Get some people that really know film to do a list and then it might have some merit, but it's just popular at the moment it came out junk then the list is just bunk. It would be like measuring these films by box office alone instead of the merits and flaws to each film.

On the bright side at least I got a good laugh out of the deal so thanks Yahoo for the bit of comedy.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

There are movies that don't even belong in the sci-fi category and others that should of been included.

That X-Men 3 is even on the list makes this line-up VERY suspect.

That's just being provocative. The fact is, even if you took Transformers out of there, it would still be a god awful list....where the hell is Bladerunner?

Wait.. are you trying to tell me that's NOT what they did?

    *disappointed*

Seriously, there are some great films on there, but that list is so based on... nothing... that it shouldn't even be news.

Iron Man WAS amazing, by the way. But not #1 Sci Fi movie of all time awesome. :p
Oh, and I loved Transformers, but it wasn't #3 either.

v for vendetta? sci-fi? really, i'm a fan of both the graphic novel and the film, but it's not sc-fi. and as a marvel comics fan, x-men 3 was terrible, shouldn't be on there at all. iron-man wasn't as iconic as the star wars films and many others on the list. i deem this list stupid.

That is seriously a ridiculous list. I wouldn't even call some of those sci-fi. V for Vendetta isn't sci-fi at all to me. This list just confirms my lack of faith in America's everyday movie-going crowd. Case in point...Epic/Scary/Disaster Movie and other such shit.
