It's an odd list IMHO.
Manhunt 2 at 1? I thought it had been very quiet... like, nobody apart from Onesock cares about it.
So awesome to see a Wii game at #1. I plan on getting it when it comes out! Gotta support M games on the Wii.
LOL @ night trap. grainy fmv for the win.
My kids are gonna have a great time playing Manhunt 2 on the Wii.
How the hell is SimCopter on that list!? It's a Sim game, and most Sim Games don't have much controversy.
Did you actually read it?
Yeah, but I still find it a bit ridiculous of how a Sim game's on there.
I can't see how Doom and MK didn't top the list, between the fact that MK resulted in Congressional-freakin' hearings, and Doom was directly blamed for Colombine.
Compared to that, Manhunt's controversy kung-fu is weak.
"on certain dates, scads of shirtless male sprites (dubbed "himbos") would gather in great numbers to hug and kiss."
You fapped it to Night Trap...don't lie!
Most of the games on the list I think are valid but the Sim Copter is a stretch and should be last on the list at best. I never heard anything about it out side of the gaming word when even Night Trap got news coverage.
The whole Night Trap is bizarre to me. One it was a crappy game with video that was silly and goofy but people lost there heads over it.
i remember how crazy people went over mortal kombat, with all those pixellated blood splatters and low res decapitations.
I find it bizarre that GTA: San Andreas gets all the heat for a simulated-sex-game that wasn't even technically PART of the game, while a game like Fahrenheit actually has simulated sex within the game proper. Probably because the US version entitled "Indigo Prophecy" didn't have it (Fahrenheit = original UK version).
Fahrenheit was a friggin' brilliant game too.
What? Fear Effect didn't make the list? Guess lesbians are getting more mainstream every day...
I thought we'd already confirmed Eric's "not getting it factor" to be impregnible.
What can I say, I love castration by Wiimote!
Ah, Night Trap - the game that singlehandedly put people off getting the Mega-CD add-on when it launched in the UK in spring '93. So much negative publicity. So few sales. The first game to get a BBFC certificate in the UK, who rated it a '15'.
And MK... am I right in recalling that the SNES (or Super Famicon) & Gameboy versions were blood-less due to Nintendo policy at the time?
Separate names with a comma.
