First off having played the game non stop over the last week I think without a doubt it's one the Wii's finest titles, which is huge considering how my Wii is usually more of a door stop than a used console.

The amount of stuff to actually do and places to explore just blows my mind, it's like an mmo in scale but without the need to wait on other people to enjoy it.

Anyone else pick it up in the Uk or anyone else planning to get it when it's out in America etc in April?

I was really worried about the combat as I generally prefer turn based combat in my jrpgs but for the first time real combat works. There aren't too many options or over the top tactics like Star Ocean, it's about your attacks and equipment and your level like a true rpg. Gotta say having an in game achievement system is glorious.

    Anyone else playing this?

I've certainly considered it, but I need another RPG in my life like I need a hole in my head :(

I would play this game, looked into it for a while. But I was put off by the combat system, I like more control during fights.

At first, I wasn't going to get it. After reading the interview with the director in Nintendo Power, I decided to give it a try, so I preordered it. He just had a good outlook of RPGs and Japanese gaming in general. I've had a bad taste in my mouth for JRPGs but I think this one looks to be a great game.

Dude, I've been beyond psyched for this game since it was announced at E3... and I was a part of Operation Rainfall, and gave my support in every way I could. I seriously cannot wait for this title to be released in North America- when I first saw the field exploration a half a year ago I wanted to play this like nobody's business. If Square wants to take a good hard look at how next-gen RPGs should be structured, they don't have to look any further than Xenoblade Chronicles. This game's art, environments, stat systems, battle mechanics, side-quests, and hell, pretty much everything else are so well-designed, you can just tell the developers were so dedicated to making a damn good game.

I kinda want to let OTHER people borrow it so they can play it too- I mean, reviews and people I've talked with have just been blown away by this title.

This game had been off and on the edges of my radar, but after reading the NP article, I'm really looking forward to this game. Pre-ordered just last week.

You actually have far more control than you believe. The knee jerk reaction of it having auto attacks doesn't mean you control any less it just means you can do far more during a fight and do more than just pressing A as fast as you can.

You can set up combos and chains, and plan a strategy to unleash without feeling like you've missed a "turn"

If more games like this lead to a true, GOOD sequel to Xenogears I am all for them.

Bleh. Pre-ordered the game back when it was offering the artbook. Walked in to the store to pick up my pre-order, and was told "no, sorry, that was a limited exclusive, I can't give you that". @#(%*^ing Gamestop.

The manager is probably selling my artbook on ebay now.

Got it, and despite preordering it just two days ago, I got the art book as well.

art book is kinda lame. more booklet-ish.

I'm picking it up tonight. The only kind of freebie swag I like is soundtrack cds. Artbooks that are free usually end up taking up space and I never really look through them except maybe a quick one time pass.
