It's a text message keyboard you attach to your controller. That's basically it.

I have one. I enjoy the heft it adds to the controller. Its pretty functional but I really don't think it would be worth $50. If you have a lot of Xbox Live friends that also use Windows Live Messenger or have WLM accounts on thier 360 then its a better value.

I use it mainly for token/prepaid code entries and chatting with my main gaming buddy when one of us is on the PC and the other on the 360. We also use it for text chat during games, I really don't like being in party/private chat if I'm playing a single player game. It works for text entry in games too.

That is a much better value. 12 months of Live, Chatpad, wired Headset and PGR 4 for $59. It's also sold in stores for $70.

I could be wrong, but you could probably use any USB-based keyboard instead, and probably for cheaper. I have one leftover from PS2 use that I use every now and then for entering the prepaid codes and chatting with friends on their PCs.

I have 1 and I love it for texting on Xbox Live. Its extra special in that it has a back light so you can see the keys.

I like that it makes the pad bigger if you leave it on, reminds me of the uber fat controller from the original xbox days. I loved that controller.

I'm thinking getting one as well, the headset will come handy since I don't own one. So it comes with 3 months of XBL?

it looks like an atari jaguar controller. it gets points for that alone.

nothing beats nintendo's gamecube keyboard though. that thing looked awesome.

I'm definitely getting the 12 month gold chat pack for mine, this way I can chat and game at the same time.
