Haven't had any luck elsewhere on the net, so decided to post a thread here. There's bound to be someone who'll be able to help me.

On my Xbox I have all of the Halo 2 maps, with the exception of both Desolation and Tombstone. My friends and I don't play H2 often, but it would be nice to have both of these maps for when we do.

Now to the question. Would it be possible to copy these maps from one Xbox to another Xbox via a system link cable?

    I don't think so, no.

    Ok...does anybody know for certain?

If not possible, if any, what options are available to me? or am I pretty much screwed?

Well since the maps aren't available on the xbox 360, you couldn't play them. The only way to do so would be to use the ones that came on discs? Halo 2 server on xbox is down anyway, so you could only do split-screen.

As I understand it, the maps (as well as all DLC) are tied to your live account & therefor are not transferable to a friend's xbox.

Just so you know, he doesn't have a 360.
Couldn't you just load them onto an external hard drive or something then copy them onto the other xbox?

I don't think either one of them was released on a disc, and I have all of the map pack maps...

Even if I could, I wouldn't play online. Split-screen will always be the real multiplayer, as far as I'm concerned. Call me old fashioned, or stuck in the past, but split-screen is what made games like Halo great. It sadens me to see the gaming industry going away from that...

Exactly, and until I do get a 360, it would be great to have access to these maps on my original Xbox. Even after I get a 360, I'll still probably play games on my original Xbox.

    I don't know...

I have all of those maps (friend of mine has the map pack). The two maps I'm looking for, Desolation and Tombstone, were released after the map pack.

Most likely, the only way you have a chance of getting those old as dead maps, is to hack your xbox, and find a not so awesome place and pirate them.

Your best bet is to hope Halo 2 Anniversary has them.

I'd honestly rather not hack it...

    :p

Might just give it a shot. I can't see any reason not to, but I'm not expecting it to actually work...

Halo Anniversary trilogy or give me death.

Seriously though, as someone who never got to play Halo 2 on LIVE, I'd love to see more H2 maps remade. Let alone play Halo 2 campaign on LIVE.

Copy the map files AND the profile they are associated with to a memory card (If it fits). To use those map files you will have to use that profile.

That could work...assuming I could get a memory card. I don't have one, I don't think my one friend does, and I'm not sure who else I know that had an Xbox that would still have a memory card. They're listed as "not available" on Gamestop's website, and I keep getting the "No store with inventory within 100 mile radius" message when I try to see if any local stores would have any. Granted that was a bit of a stretch, but still, it was worth a try...

No luck there either. Who knows, with all the random gaming gear my one friend has, he might actually have one. I'll have to ask him the next time I see him.

Gamestop doesn't carry any xbox memory cards, Or anything xbox related for that matter. (Unless it's for the 360)

Than it seems pointless for them to still have listings for Xbox stuff on their site...
