Hello all. I am about to order my 360 and this is what I'm gonna get. Wal mart 360 premium bundle w/ Ultimate All. and Forenza extra game-Halo 3 extra wireless controller 12 month xbox live Turtle head set I dont have a HDTV and I'm just gonna hook it up through my VCR. So my ? is is there anything else I should get? Thanks Prowl
About the only thing I can think of is some Microsoft Points for some of the awesome games available to purchase on X-Box Live Marketplace. You can either get a Points card in a store, or just purchase them online via your 360 or xbox.com.
I definitely second this one. If you're not getting the newer controllers that have the charge packs with 'em, grab either the charge and play kit or some good rechargeables. I don't wanna think how many batteries we've gone through between wiimotes and 360 controllers. I tried the rechargeable, but my kids wouldn't pay attention and threw them out like normal batteries. When I get the extra $ I'm gonna grab the charge and play kit.
Seconding the NiHM recharge batteries. If you play alot, your controllers are going to tear through them pretty fast. I have a recharge dock that I just throw them on when I'm not playing so I always have a full battery. Also welcome to the Xbox community! Just a quick note: lay your system flat and not standing up and down. It'll cause disk scratches and that's always a bad thing.
Oh yeah I have all the Guitar Hero's for the PS2. I'm thinking about selling all my PS2 stuff and going for alot of 360 stuff. I really want Rockband.
Things you may want to get (if it suits your needs): Accessories: Wireless Network Adapter (unless you plan to connect directly to your router) Play n Charge kit (this is a no-brainer) VGA Cable (if you plan on hooking up to your PC monitor) Microsoft Points (TONS of them--for Arcade titles especially) *External HDD (if you have tons of music or videos that you've downloaded and intend to play) Games (make sure they are age appropriate): Gears of War Mass Effect Stranglehold skate. Bioshock
Mass Effect. Also, you should think about getting an HDTV as a future purchase. Games look so much better for it. Well, you don't need to buy an external HDD for that. If you have XP or Vista you can stream all you r music, pictures and most video over to the 360. If you have Media Center you can use the Media Center interface on the 360 to do it through that interface.
True, but some PC's aren't able to stream at a constant speed and the video or music will suffer as a result (especially if your network use is high). I guess I just find it much easier to slap it all onto an external HDD which eliminates the streaming. With that said, he doesn't "need" an HDTV.......although it's a nice investment.
Game-wise I'd say.... Mass Effect (probably the single best game out for the 360, IMO) Dead Rising Bioshock (assuming you don't have it for PC/your PC can't run it) Gears of War Oblivion (again, assuming you don't have it for PC/your PC can't run it)
