So far the new things are: Gets another once-Sony exclusive: Tekken 6 XBL gets DS popular puzzle game: Meteos Wars Ability to install games onto hard drive ala PS3 Halo 3 - see other thread for clip New Dashboard
as much as Meteos Wars sounds cool...i dunno...the touch-control made it the game...trying to use the D-pad will be harder when it gets intense (if they'll even get intense) Tekken 6...i always thought that would stay Sony...never saw this one coming. Saving games onto HDD...then they need to start shelling out bigger drives.
I've still got a 20G hard drive, so I won't be saving any games to it. It would be nice if they would announce when we're getting the new dashboard update. TGS? Maybe its just that I've had 4 hours sleep in the past 48 hours, but what does that stand for?
So one game will fill up my HD? Yeah, I wouldn't be too proud of this one. Tekken is the ass end of all 3D fighters. VF and Soul. Now that's an exclusive to claim.
This will be an epic fail of new proportions if they don't start putting out bigger HD's, and for a decent price. I ain't paying $250 for that current bigger HD they have out. That's just too damn much for a HD.
Dont know how you stand that game. Anyway id like to see how the dashboard asctually works when the update comes.
Hey, Ninety Nine Nights II coming in 2009. Enjoyed the first... New Arcade games too. Space Invaders Extreme, Metal Slug 7, Arkanoid Live, R-Type Dimensions. Better load up on MS points!
This may be good. I used to like Tekken up until number 3. Then it kind of lost its flavor with me. I don't know anything about 6 so I'll wait and see. I know nothing about this. So, the one feature about the PS3 that I think makes no sense at all is now coming to the Xbox with its seriously undersized HDD. The world is indeed upside down. This I like. I know it is campaign only, but does it have online co-op? (I suppose I could see the other thread.) I've been reading up on this on Kotaku and other sites. From what I have seen the "me too, Wii too" avatars initially overshadowed what seems to be a great new interface. However, if they still offer gamerpics and themes yet don't even show you an image of what you are getting if you buy it I am going to scream!
I wouldn't say the hard drive is under sized, you can get 120 gig ones and it will help with faster load times.
Understood -but not for what they are charging for 120 GB drives I can't. Let's see how the math works out. I could buy a 120 GB HDD for the Xbox and pay $150. But, I could buy a Terabyte (1000 GB) HDD for my PC and pay -oh, I don't know... $150. Keep in mind that is the price for an external drive with an enclosure, a USB cable, and a power supply. For what Microsoft charges for disc platters the TB drive should be $1200.
the xbox 360 hdd is a massive joke by microsoft at the expense of gamers. why couldn't they just let us put whatever drive we want in there?
Now that I've become more lazy I'm appreciating at least some of my games being installed (if the room is there). I like just clicking on Wipeout whenever I feel like playing and not having to grab the disc. But yeah my 20 gigs is just not enough. Plus I have Demos already.
Indeed, it's just freaking ******ed. Which is why this great, new feature will fall flat on it's face if they don't slash the price on the bigger HD, cuz nobody will be using it!
From what MS has said it's DRM issues, thats why you cant just use any HD. But you can pop certain 120gig HDs into the casing and it'll work. I paid the $180 for my 120 gig and it was well worth it for me. Also the HD installing is optional, I'll do it for a few select games but most I could care less about.
