Simply put, what accessories should I get.
    And what should I avoid?

I use it for racing games, movies, and music. Already got Netflix on there, and already streaming media from my computer.

But, I'm talking about hardware. Are there any Transformers related gadgets out there? I've seen the awesome Tron-based controller for it, what else?

Still looking for a good desk-top mounted steering wheel to use with my racing seat set-up. Do not want the lap-top kind of steering wheels.

What other accessories are out there?

Seriously, what accessories are recommended for Xbox besides the HDMI cables?

This is really a thread :(

I remember when Google was the de-facto standard for question answering.

Asking inane questions on an unrelated message board takes less effort though.

It's not as if you weren't already well aware, but I thought this image was apropos.

I'm not talking about basic accessories. I'm talking about special, unique, maybe Transformer related accessories like face-plates, decorative things. Etc.

I remember seeing some Transformer faceplates years ago, back around when the first movie came out but they didn't really catch my eye. Just seemed like some random Dreamwave/IDW art on a photoshop'd background, wouldn't have been worth the money. But again, this was years ago, they've been off the market for a long while now.

You might be able to find some Transformer-branded 360 merch when the next movie hits, but for right now, the pickings are slim, if any at all.

If you like the Tron controller, get it when you see it. PDP (folks what made it) decided now that they'd made a good controller, it'd be a swell idea to make it super limited.

...what's the difference between a desk and lap steering wheel? Can't they both just be planted on a flat surface?

The lap-style steering wheel that I see sold next to the Xboxs in stores are the Microsoft gray ones. These ones in specific are only designed to be used on the lap as the base that the steering wheel and shifter are mounted are wide and have basically leg-clamps. This will not work well with the seat that I've got. So, looking for desk-top style.
I really wanted to get that Porsche-design one that was designed for both PC and Xbox, but it was too expensive, and very limited.

I'll have a look at the Tron controller and see if I can find some TF covers.

The S-model doesn't have interchangeable face plates. The types of "accessories" you are looking for are mostly found on hand-held systems (cases, stylus pens, skins) or on the Wii (Wiimote add-ons, character themed controllers, skins). You might be able to find a vinyl skin for a 360 or PS3 that fits what you're looking for, but there isn't a market for mainline console customization aside from a few licensed controllers and such.

Penello: 'Nobody bought' Xbox 360 faceplates

I never understood the fascination of faceplates anyway. Back when I had a 360, the system looked ok to me just the way it was.:2c: .
