Now, I don't know about anyone else but I have found PC game pads to be lacking, even the higher end models seem fragile and have buggy analog sticks that seem to always have sensitivity problems.

So, I got to reading the other day that that the xbox 360 controller used a USB interface, and that the only difference between the controllers for the 360 and the one that you could buy "for windows" was the driver disk.

Today I was out shopping and saw some third party xbox 360 controllers on clearance for about $20, so I bought one and plugged it up to my PC, after finding the drivers for it on-line and installing them I am in computer game bliss! Finally, a console quality controller on my PC!

It feels sturdy as hell and is pin-point accurate, I couldn't be happier.

Thats such a great idea. I feel as though the 360 controller is one of the peaks out there.

Eh, I'm fine with my PC controller... Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Analog 2, got it years ago and it still works perfect and never had a problem with any of it's functions, even has all the buttons of a PS2 controller, and that includes the L3 and R3 buttons. Nice plastic too, has a soft rubber feel to it, more comfy than most console controllers. $40, best cash I ever spent on my PC.

I'm just gonna buy that wireless receiver for 20 bucks. Any wireless 360 device works with it.

I've been using a 360 controller for over a year now on some games on my PC. Marvel Ultimate Alliance and such. It's obviously not good for first person shooters and the like, but there are plenty of games where it is quite useful.

Thats funny. I play on my PC so I don't have to use a console controller. Keyboard + mouse = win!

But then again, I play mostly RTS and FPS on my PC. Actually, I have been thinking of getting a 360 controller so I can properly fly in the Battlefield series. Its hard to fly those damn things with a mouse!

Same here, some of the arcade variety as well. I picked up the wireless receiver a couple weekends ago and it works great. I was using a PS2 to USB cord and a "Retrocon" Ps2 controller I got at Best Buy for 5 bucks. This however kicks it's ass.

isn't there a usb thinga majig that lets you use all 360 stuff on a pc? even the headets i beleive...

i got a double ended (yes) ps2 usb adapter. i find the 360 d-pad to be lame for arcade fighters.

Yeah, that's the wireless receiver, and it works with the controller, driving wheel, wireless headset and I would assume the new Guitar Hero controller. It's not great for fighters, but I'm not a fighter game type, I like old school action arcade platformers.

I've been using my wired controller for a long while now. My flightstick just died a while back so I've been using it as a good replacement for flying in the Battlefield games and as a controller for Gametap.

i picked up a used madcatz xbox controller for $5, spliced it with a usb cable, downloaded some sdrivers and it works fine a couple years back and that's what i've been using ever since. it works great for everything i've tried it with so far. i've never been a huge fan of xbox controllers but the price was definitely right.
