I wish his doors pivoted like prowl and downbeat. That and his lack of mouth are really the only issues I have.

Other than lack of mouth, anyone else have goooy paint on the base of the neck? It kind prevents it from sitting flush. Not a big deal but before i go scrape it, want to make sure it’s really paint and not molded plastic.

    I think that's molded plastic.

Don't know how many they have, but Savant is currently $66.66 at Toydojo's Birthday Sale. I got one.

Remember when this figure had the original hood detail?

That's what toonthusiam will get you. Sloppy revision work.

    That's looking great.

I have no idea if this helps at all, but the best articulation I've seen at that scale is on the little rally girls that came with the old Alternity GT-R line. Eg:

Their articulation was actually fantastic, only downside was that some of the joints were delicate, they occasionally painted over parts that should move, and those miniskirts they gave them heavily restricted leg movement. Oh and tiny feet = very difficult to stand up as usual. But they look great and pose amazingly well all things considered.

Ah, that makes sense. The gap in the neck was to accommodate the hood scoop.

The positioning of this makes me think Cosmos just stepped out of Skids' hatch, clown-car style.

Well, I'll tell you why most people are ending up with shredded blue paint on the thighs of their Skids'.

Do yourself a favor and when transforming him back to a car, DON'T put his feet inside the body of the car, the way it came in the box. Just leave them flat on the bottom. There's plenty of ground clearance.

If you fold them up into the car body, when you're trying to get him lined up to be a car again you'd grind his thighs against the ridged bottoms of his feet like a rasp. Because there's two different ratchets that have to be lined up just so to get the car aligned properly and they're both very stiff, it's almost impossible to not grind away a layer of paint the first time you transform him, assuming someone at the factory didn't do it for you already.

Leaving the feet out gives you room to put his secondary gun in his trunk along with the motocompo anyway, so it's worth it.

Interesting. Looks like they're quite a bit bigger than the scale I'm going for, though. I'm using mp Spike for the height. 37mm. I'm going to make some of the joints smaller than I really want to. They'll be delicate but it's better than giving her huge beefy arms. Besides, the dianaughts that came with some of mft's figures are smaller than that and use tiny joints and they seem to hold up ok. They're delicate but not "fall apart if you look at them cross eyed" delicate.

If you do then be careful with them, nearly twisted a foot off one off trying to pose one of them.

I got my Skids. and as for many of you his mouth is missing.

I made an attempt with a Binaltech skids head and that looked nice but was holding on some tape.

So i decided to change the normal face. I removed the old paint but there was no lip, mouth detail under (or very little). I made a scalpel cut to imitate the mouth and spay painted with Tamiya TS-17 (gloss aluminium) than with TS-79(Semi gloss clear). I also made a cut to the back of the eye section that was inside the head so that they sit further in the sockets and have some natural shading. The scalpel cut went a bit to far to the left but overall i think this is a big improvement.
