Breakdown was always my fav stunticon. Looks like that sculpt is doing him justice.

Can't wait to see the finished colors in alt mode next to sideswipe and sunsirge alt modes.

I almost don't even care about menasaur mode. If the sculpts for the rest of the alt/botmodes are this good, combined mode is like a bonus.

Partsforming as in the combiner? Ah, yeah seems like over 60% is partsforming or rather falseforming.

    Looks very promising!

Hopefully even better! I'd like an MP Octane in my collection.

Wow, that looks pretty good. They've even turned the spoiler around the right way!

I need to see exactly how Menasor works and I need to know how the overall quality is but if they turn out well, I might buy these (and probably DX9's too, since those are the ones I was originally more interested anyway).

Here's hoping they don't screw this up.

That depends though. If it's ToyWorld levels of partsforming, so be it. However, if we basically end up with a Lego set, that becomes problematic.

I'm imagining the typical 3P "trick" coming into play here of most of the Combiner bits being housed in Motormaster's trailer. Motormaster himself is very obviously not composed of the entire truck (actually looks like they've managed to cram his robot mode into just the cab), so they'd have a lot of space to work with to hide away combiner bits.

Not exactly sure how the arm figures are going to work, if they'll actually physically separate, or if there'll be some funky linkage armatures at work, but the rest of Menasor looks like it could feasibly work almost Powermaster Prime style, with the trailer converting into the entire Menasor body, and then just tacking all the component figures onto it. So in that instance, it could be practically zero partsforming (I mean, with the usual combiner exception of the individual robots being separate parts), contingent on the arm mechanics. It would also make for potentially a very sturdy Combiner, since there'd be no requirement to make the joints separate or anything.

If that's the case, I wonder if X-Transbots might part this out in six packages, with Motormaster being sold separately from his trailer, similarly to how other recent super-large 3P figures have been sold (Apocalypse and FT Omega Supreme).

Yeah, I've considered that possibility before. The changing sizes of certain parts such as tires (granted, they're just renders, so that's probably why) and the arms in general leave me scratching my head though, but he might turn out okay.

I doubt they'll sell Motormaster and his trailer separately but I suppose it is a possibility.

I think, more than anything, I (as well as everyone else) just want to see how on Earth this thing works. I don't even necessarily think it looks bad (albeit maybe redundant to have separate limb figures, depending on how it works), but I just want to know to know what's going on with all those parts!

as impressive as the combiner looks, I will be very interested to see what the engineering of motormaster will be like. Although many will guess that the trailer will be a partsforming one, just like, FP and TFM.

a square shaped robot with cars tacked to him is something many may not like but since a lot of people want a G1 version so badly this is what you will get

$40 limbs, diecast, MP scale, and toon accuracy?

XTB is killing this one so far. Menasor is my second favorite G1 combiner, and I'm all-in for this set for sure.

I do hope they improved their Breakdown a lot since the release of that knock off.It had lots of issues..The lower legs didnt seem to tab anywhere, the super thin shoulder joints looked fragile too. They did improve the backpack by now having the spoiler facing down instead of up,so im confident they made other improvements

You've pretty much described the perfect g1 Sunbow (even toy although different colours) MP. I'm sure we'll get the usual detractors but there are alot of ppl who want that. Luckily for those that don't there are two more detailed/modern versions of differing sizes, not to mention dx9 who may even follow the toy style. Everyone wins, right?
