You know what's funny? The first time my son watched the Transformers movie he was like "Daddy, how can Devastator fit inside Astrotrain"? I thought to myself, why the hell hadn't I thought that that was crazy and my 6yo (at the time) was the first person to point that out to me?

I just had always liked that scene and thought it was cool, wow, I guess my son is a lot smarter then me when I was a kid.

 

Don't get me wrong I loved the movie. Didn't even mind that Prime died after being shot in the guts by Megs, although he managed to dust off multiple shots to the same area as he was mowing down cons in his alt mode earlier.

The whole mass shifting bullshit in Transformers was part of its charm kind of like that Simpsons episode where Burns was running a casino

 

All you need to know about scale in Transformers is that the guy who turns into an F-15 Eagle is shorter than the guy who turns into a cassette player.

Really liking these cartoon symbols. They fit better proportionally for me than the taller toy faction symbols which also have straighter sides.

They're from Reprolabels. Their photos don't really do them justice. Look way better in person.

Seeing as how this seller is reliable (see feed back on Ebay seller wuhanlipu) I'm thinking we may be witnessing seeing a price drop on this figure from individual sellers like we recently witnessed with Apollyon going for $80 MISB.

 

Whilst I'd be happy with a price drop like that, and it would certainly put me over the fence on whether or not I pick this guy up, the $80 Polly's came out after the official MP Megatron was revealed and all other third party offerings were displayed.

I think we'll see a price drop to around $110 like we saw with Andras soon enough though.

 

Or maybe XTB is looking to drum up more sales of this figure because they suspect FT's Cyclonus may be revealed soon.

 

Was going to wait for the fanstoys version but this is very tempting. Particularly if there is a flash sale coming up.

 

Yeah. A flash sale would put it at $115 shipped. I'll will hold out and get the FT version regardless. If Eligos drops super low like close to or under $100 then I may get it as a clone to the FT version....similar to the '86 movie.

 

Possibly yes but I'd have thought that xtb had probably sold their stock to the retailers and now the retailers are cutting into their margin to offload their stock.

 

Well the major online retailers are still selling Eligos at market price. It is this individual seller in China who is doing this price cut. He like many others gets his goods directly from the XTB. The fact that he is a long-time popular seller is very telling.

 

No offense to any of the suggestions or theories being put forth, but I don't think it is likely to see XTB Eligos drop in price from $140ish to $100ish anytime soon.

The reason XTB Apollyon dropped in price was that XTB dropped their wholesale cost on Apollyon which meant that each retailer's cost dropped as well. While my memory is a bit fuzzy, I think this happened sometime around when MT Despotron and the DX9 Mightron were released. I think it was before the Takara reveal, but who knows. It does make alot of sense that XTB would drop their cost on this figure since it's been out for such a long time and they are probably just milking the mold for what it's worth.

I'm surprised they actually haven't tried doing some sort of dark gun metal or clear translucent version or something for sh*ts and giggles. I'd buy a clear one for fun... Ghost of Megatron... or maybe some battle damaged version would be cool.

wrt XTB Eligos, I am very happy with him and think he is definitely worth picking up. I haven't purchased anything from the seller CM linked to - but I do know the batch that my supplier had all seemed to have the grey painted chest/ab rather than the pink tummies that some were getting. Lol. Not sure if it's worth paying an extra $5-$10 to you, but was to me. Maybe it's just luck of the draw or some slight pigment in the paint tray - who knows

I would expect that the only way you'll see a big discount on Eligos is if Takara reveals one (which who knows about that), or if it's like a Black Friday or Christmas sale. I don't think a FT release is really going to shake up or scare XTB into dropping their cost. I'm not sure also if the US retailers are bound in their agreements to only offer figures at MSRP (i.e. they can't just drop the price if they feel like it). Maybe they can but choose not to or maybe they aren't allowed to - no idea.

I think china sellers have a bit more flexibility or they just don't care and are willing to make less profit to move more units. In any case - I've had XTB Eligos on offer brand new shipped for cheaper than US retail since it's release. I can ask my supplier on it if he wants to run a sale, but I think he's cool with what he has it at..

 

Ordered, getting him thursday approcimately. Can´t wait to fiddle with the transformation.

 

Don't see the target masters getting much love. I really dig these little guys. I love that they used a (mostly?) completely new mold for Truncheon.

 

Got this guy yesterday.


Very happy, although my fingers still hurt from transforming him to jet and back. Jet and Robot look spot on, XTB definitely nails the part of letting them look near 100%, while sacrificing easier transformation. In terms of ths outcome I can absolutely understand, but I'm happy I just transformed him once now.

No problems with the canopy pegs and legs pegged in great too. It all comes down to patience. Patience, a steady hand and trying to know where these guys wanna go with the figure and the parts.
One small piece broke on mine, but it's not big. I tend to get less and less pain on these. They're plastic. It happens.
Backside leg, where the backside of the canopy pegs in broke a piece off, but like I said. Nothing big. Photowise he'll rock it.

Do you have a photo of said part/section? I'm a month away from ordering him, and would like to see the various spots, I have to keep in mind, when transforming this guy.

 

What insignias are those? Ocean dry rubs? Which exact set? (They change them every six months it seems).
