Left thumb broke. Put too much floor polish on is.
It'll work just fine without it.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat again to a different break!! Man, luckily the only thing that broke on mine so far was the torso joint..
Dang dude. I'm sorry about your luck so far.
I decided to dig my 'polly out. I think I'm gonna find a shadow box and build a display of him in gun mode.
Its partially my fault with all the floor polish I put on that Joint.
Loving him still.
Sent payment for parts.
Are these the new ball joints?????
They look right but I don't know about "new." I got him at launch and he came with the alternate balljoints packed in the box with him.
I feel like those look like the ones I put on him as the replacements. That wasn't a fun experience. I then removed them and floor polished the joint and socket instead
How does he scale with Primorion? I may buy him off a friend if they match up?
Pretty sure Primorion is at least an inch or more taller, so I'd say they don't match up well. Apollyon and MP10 are almost exactly the same height (top of head/top of chest), it's really remarkable.
Primorion is too tall and need an entirely new Megatron. Honestly not sure if TW will do one any time soon.
Here's an old shot of Apollyon and Hasbro MP10 from right after I picked up Apollyon.
Is this guy worth getting even in 2018?
If you like toon accuracy? No. If you like mp-10 style? Yes.
I just got him, G1 toy silver mp 36, and OS WJ version.
I've got a V2 for sale MIB on the cheap if anybody is looking for him. In great shape.
What megs are you looking for?
Having planned to keep him around even if an official Megatron came out I'm gonna say...no. One of the only two purchases I've come to regret after his leg got stuck in transformation and his waist snapped off. He looked better when he came out because there was little to compare to and even though his puzzleriffic legs and wide hips didn't get any better in person. MP36 completely outclasses him in my opinion.
Definitely! If you want the best looking MP style Megatron. I also have the official MP-36, which is a better engineered toy with incredible articulation and cartoon looks but those looks are pretty bad, IMO. MX-I remains my definitive Megatron and MP-36 is a nice supplemental toy to have on the side. And yeah, my original run MX-I I've had and played with since day one is still in excellent shape with no issues.
Depends on what you're looking for.
If you want a modern interpretation of a Toy Megatron? Then yes.
If you want a SILVER Megatron with tons of details? Then yes.
If you want a great representation of a G1-style Megatron? Then yes.
If you want cartoon accuracy for your Megatron? Then No.
I have all the MP style and the official MP-36 Megatron. I like all of them for different reasons:
MP-36 for its cartoon accuracy.
MakeToys Despotron for how badass he looks.
DX9 Mightron is my MP Megatron because I like how he looks and how well he represents the character with a balance of toy and toon.
Apollyon is all-out modern toy-based perfection. I feel he's got an unfair bad reputation that he doesn't deserve. It's also the one that took the Megatron design to a whole new level of MP awesome. It's also the ONLY one besides MP-36 that comes with the silencer and gun stock parts.
